Rated 5 out of 5 by Khan from Excellent I have bought this product over a year ago and I have not used it with this thought that it might be a useless thing. Just recently I gave it a chance and I am in absolute love with it. Homemade yogurt and greek style wow.Date published: 2018-07-01Rated 5 out of 5 by kitchenpat from Greek Yogurt Made Easy This is the best invention ever. Easy to use and fits nicely in the frig for straining. No more big pots, strainers and coffee filters.Date published: 2018-06-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Dottee from I love this strainer! I have had the strainer for several months. I use it to make Greek yogurt that I have made in an Instant Pot. It is very easy to use and works as it is described. The longer you leave the yogurt, the thicker it is. If you have strained for a longer time and it is thicker than you desire, you can add some of the whey back to it to yield the desired consistency. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who likes to make their own yogurt or ricotta cheese.Date published: 2018-04-01Rated 5 out of 5 by jccwc from Works perfectly This is easy to clean and works perfectly. The fine mesh is delicate so use a soft spatula when removing yoghurt. Hand washing is easy when you use the hose setting on your faucet. The longer you leave the yoghurt in the strainer the thicker it becomes. Try leaving it for three days to get a firm yoghurt, thicker than store bought Greek yogurt.Date published: 2016-06-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Breadman76 from Time Saver This yogurt strainer is much easier and faster than using ultra fine cheese cloth in a strainer over a bowl. It also works very good for making Ricotta cheese from whole milk. Be gentle with a soft silicone spatula when removing the yogurt or Ricotta and also be gentle while rinsing and washing in lukewarm soapy water. Rinse with a spray if available. Hand wash only Do Not put in the dishwasher. Did not notice any metallic taste after straining for 3 hours. This should last a long time if handled correctly and used per instructions. Worth the money and I bought two of them to make a large batch at one time.Date published: 2016-01-18Rated 2 out of 5 by MoreMore from NOT DISHWASHER SAFE The instructions CLEARLY state this is NOT dishwasher safe. You are paying extra for a stainless steal mesh that is no better and no more durable than the fine nylon mesh of the white (and cheaper) version. If you want the WS version because it's black, go for it. Otherwise, get the cheaper white version - does the same thing and you're still going to wash it by hand.Date published: 2014-12-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Fringy from Great for greek yogurt! I purchased the yogurt maker pictured below with the goal of making my own yogurt. The yogurt was great but I wanted to have it a bit more firm like my favorite brand of store yogurt. This strainer is indispensable because it removes some of the whey from the yogurt quite fast. I'm still experimenting to get the perfect straining time (which I think is an hour or so) but I think that this product might also but be useful when making cheese. I forgot a batch in the strainer for a couple of days and the yogurt was very firm -- almost like a spreadable cheese. I may have to try that!Date published: 2014-02-23
Is the mesh for straining stainless steel or plastic?Hi yvo13, The fine mesh strainer is made of stainless steel.Date published: 2019-04-16
