This ruffled square baker from Emile Henry is shaped from Burgundian clay, which absorbs, distributes and retains heat evenly, so casseroles, gratins and bar cookies brown to perfection. - More about Emile Henry
Emile Henry has been crafting artful kitchen ceramics since 1850, when the French company was founded in a small town in Burgundy. Today, it’s still proudly owned and operated by members of the Henry family. The mineral-rich soils of Burgundy are known for creating wines with unique terroir, but they also yield the special local clays used to craft each piece of Emile Henry cookware and bakeware. The high-fired clay withstands extremely high temperatures while distributing and retaining heat gently and evenly. Artisans hand apply the glazes to create vivid color that looks beautiful in the kitchen and at the table.
Rated 5 out of 5 by nikki38 from beautiful soft aqua color and works wonderfully Wanted some cookware to go with my teal accent colors in kitchen, made Ziti in it and nothing baked on, so easy to clean! Love it. Have one other piece by them and same thing - no mess and so easy to clean!Date published: 2017-05-24Rated 5 out of 5 by NOLAartist from Emile Henry - My favorite bakers! I love everything about Emile Henry bakers. I particularly love that they are still made in France, using the special clay that makes everything baked in them so wonderful. This particular clay and the Emile Henry process also make the bakers able to be used under the broiler. If I am baking something and I want to run it under the broiler for a few moments, I don't want to worry about whether my dish is going to crack in two. With Emile Henry, I don't worry at all - in the oven, to the broiler, back to the oven - all with no worry. The baker is nice and heavy, with a gorgeous glaze that truly looks wonderful on the table. This particular dish is perfect for two chicken breasts. I'm gradually replacing all of my casserole and baking dishes with Emile Henry.Date published: 2016-04-24
