The rustic charm of kitchen ceramics in an Emile Henry 1850s catalog provided the inspiration for the French company's Artisan series of bakeware. Each pie dish is shaped from Burgundian clay, which absorbs, distributes and retains heat evenly, so pies bake and brown to perfection. The dish's generous proportions, added depth and scalloped rim make it ideal for baking deep-dish fruit and savory pies that will be served at the table.

  • Burgundian clay heats evenly for gentle, uniform baking and browning.
  • Ceramic retains heat exceptionally well, so it's ideal for keeping food warm at the table.
  • 2 1/2"-high ruffled sides accommodate deep-dish pies.
  • Vibrant exterior for a beautiful oven-to-table presentation.
  • Durable, hand-applied glaze will not chip, crack or craze over time.
  • Will not absorb odors or flavors.
  • Microwavable; oven, freezer, broiler and dishwasher safe.
  • Handcrafted in France.

About Emile Henry

Emile Henry has been crafting artful kitchen ceramics since 1850, when the French company was founded in a small town in Burgundy. Today, it’s still proudly owned and operated by members of the Henry family. The mineral-rich soils of Burgundy are known for creating wines with unique terroir, but they also yield the special local clays used to craft each piece of Emile Henry cookware and bakeware. The high-fired clay withstands extremely high temperatures while distributing and retaining heat gently and evenly. Artisans hand apply the glazes to create vivid color that looks beautiful in the kitchen and at the table.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Pie Dish I bought this right before Christmas in order to make my husband & family pies. The reviews did not lie...this is the most perfect pie dish I have ever baked with. The generous depth of the dish prevents the fruit filling from leaking over the sides and it does in fact bake so uniformly that I will never use a glass dish again. I give this 5 stars. It's perfection! Shown in the photo is the WS Pie Cookbook. It is a must buy if you want to make your own pie crust and fresh fruit fillings. There is also a terrific Chicken Pie & Shepherd's Pie Recipe. Painting of tangerines by Neil Carroll, London.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very pretty I purchased this pie plate to make apple pie for Thanksgiving. It is a beautiful dish. the heavy ruffles add so much drama and the deep depth gave plenty of room for extra apples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely the best So happy I found this pie plate. I’ve owned other brands and they do not compare. Pies bake evenly and come out perfect! Bought one for my daughter for Christmas. I know she will love it too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Pie Dish I Will Ever Own This is hands down the best pie dish I have ever used. My pies cook evenly and perfectly and the pieces slide right out of the dish with out sticking or breaking. It is so pretty and durable. I bought it only 2 weeks ago and I've already made 3 pies in it. I can't stop, I love it that much. Does anyone know where I can watch a tutorial on how to make the pie crust designs shown in the catalog pictures for this dish?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! High Performance! This pie dish bakes up a beautiful pie with even heating and its deep ruffled design makes the pie beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Pie Dish I love to use this deep pie dish. My pie crusts come out flakier when I use it compared to a regular glass dish. Even without greasing the dish prior, pie pieces always come out clean without sticking because of the perfect glazed surface. Glad we purchased it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In the ruf Like all Emile Henry products this dish doesn't disappoint, deeper than the standard dish but slightly smaller in diameter, it brings a little more flair to the pie crust. It will hold the same amount of filling as the standard dish, so no need to alter amount. Very happy with purchase

  • What is the difference between “Hand crafted in France” and “Made n France”

    Asked by: SueR
Hi SueR, Handcrafted means that it's made skillfully by hand, rather than completely by a machine.

The listed dimensions include the extra girth of the ruffled edges and don’t tell you the actual baking size.  Is this essentially an 8” or a 9” pie pan?  Thanks.

    Asked by: PCS222
Hi PC S222, Thank you for pointing out this omission. This is a 9” pie pan. We'll be adding this information to the copy shortly.

I have this pie dish and rarely use it. I have trouble getting the pie out without making a mess of it due to the ruffled edges. Any suggestions?

    Asked by: Monica M
HI Monica, We suggest brushing the dish with a little bit of nonstick cooking oil or butter before baking.
