Rated 5 out of 5 by RUTHG from Sharp, fast, and handy I started looking for a mezzaluna for a pesto recipe on Pinterest. It looked faster than using a mortar and pestle. I was sold when I read that they are great for making chopped salads. We eat a LOT of salads and the baby greens are so soft and fluffy that it is hard to get enough on a plate to satisfy my Spartan Race son and 6'4" husband. They are thrilled! I put a vast amount of greens in my wooden dough bowl and chop. The volume seems to diminish by half and you end up with easy to eat chopped salad. It would also be perfect for mason jar chopped salads. I am excited about trying it for pesto. This is SHARP. Food does get stuck between the blades. Clean it out from the top if you are brave enough to use your finger, or just use a chopstick. I was worried about storing it so no one gets cut, but it comes with a great box for keeping it in and clear plastic guards that go over the blades.Date published: 2014-05-14
