Baked goods stay warm at the table tucked inside our heated stoneware basket. A longtime favorite of our customers, the well-proportioned oval basket's woven design is hand crafted of earthenware and finished with a white glaze. Place the basket in a 350°F oven for approximately 15 minutes; carefully remove and line with a cloth napkin before filling with warm bread or muffins. The thick base will continue to gently radiate heat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bread basket from So disappointed I had the original breadbasket for years & loved it! Unfortunately it was dropped and my sweet daughter-in-law gave me another one this Christmas. This is a cheap copy of the original at best, light weight and not worth the price she paid for sure! Had I purchased this item, I would return it immediately.Date published: 2018-01-18Rated 5 out of 5 by chefcml from Didn't See the "Original" I never saw the "original" basket the other reviews are talking about, however, I think this a beautiful addition to the kitchen! My dad and stepmom received one of these for their wedding, and I have loved it ever since. It was one of the very first items I put on my own registry, and was purchased for me by my grandmother. My mom loved it so much when she saw that I am getting her one too for Mother's Day!Date published: 2017-04-29Rated 1 out of 5 by CatLadyAnne from Bring Back John Laver / Eucalyptus Stoneware Eucalyptus Stoneware, the supplier for the original bowls and baskets, went out of business a few years ago. John Laver, the former owner, is still working in the San Diego, CA, area and probably could be persuaded to make some more of these for W-S, if they played their cards right. I know the knockoffs I've seen have had awful glazes. Please, Williams-Sonoma, bring back Laver's baskets!Date published: 2017-01-02Rated 2 out of 5 by SummerJoy from A cheap basket Case!! I agree with the comment previously made. I ordered the green and carmel colored bread baskets. They made a lovely accent to my place settings on the table. I received so many comments. I decided to buy additional bread baskets as gifts. My select family members are very happy with their gifts. Early this year, I went to WS and found that the bread baskets were not the same and I was very disappointed too. This bread basket looks and feels so cheap. I am so glad I bought my bread baskets before WS made the change.Date published: 2016-11-30Rated 1 out of 5 by kristin1 from Please bring back the original I have one of the previous versions of this, and have given several as gifts and recommended them to others. Today I made a special trip to purchase one as a gift and knew immediately that this was not the same. The original was heavyweight and came in beautiful colors. This one is much lighter, comes only in white, and is now made in china. The impression soured even more when I saw that it is sold for the same price! I love Williams Sonoma and much of my kitchen is comprised of their items. However, when they change what used to be an excellent product, there is no special reason to shop here. I can already get lower quality elsewhere. I hope they bring back the original manufacturer and strive to keep the unique and excellent products they often offer.Date published: 2016-06-08
