No, this is not designed to brew into a mug. The warming plate under the carafe could damage the mug. However, if you'd like to only make 1 or 2 cups of coffee that is an option.

According to Café™, "After setup of strength and temperature, push the Brew/Select knob. The number of cups will illuminate on the display along with the last strength that was chosen. Rotate the Brew/Select knob to choose the number of cups of coffee you want to brew. Push the Brew/Select knob to confirm. Brewing will start." Does the Glass Carafe model include a hot plate to keep the coffee warm?

Yes, the glass carafe models (C7CDABS) do have a warming plate that will only come on during the brew cycle and will shut off after 2 hours. It can be turned off at any time.

What is the height of the machine with the lids open?

I am looking for a coffee maker that is only stainless steel and does not use any plastic parts. This is coffee maker quality as all steel?

For a machine with no plastic look at the Ratio 8. I chose it for that reason.

I'm having trouble with the water filtering through the basket area. Coffee grounds splatter everywhere. I have used a paper filter, used no filter and have done everything I can think of to make it brew correctly.
