Rated 5 out of 5 by bhall99 from What a difference in holiday prep! I have had mine for close to 2 years, and I never had a food processor...ever!!! When it comes the holiday season I would try and cut up my blocks of cheese for some of my cheese dishes and dreaded that part every year. Not to memtion all the veggies for salad and list goes on and on. I also started a cookie blog that for now I make and share cookie recipes on my site weekly since I am still working full time. I decided I needed a food processor so I researched to death the reviews from everywhere and decided I was going to get a Breville Sous Chef! Yes it is an investment but I love my food processor and I could not be happier. It is heavier but you cannot beat the solid feel and just be amazed at its power.Date published: 2019-12-01Rated 1 out of 5 by pokerface1919 from Buyer's Remorse! It's no better at the basics then any other brand. And the bowl is NOT dishwasher safe, and it's nasty. I only used a few times because the bowl will not get sparklie clean. Did NOT work good on dough either. Exceedingly disappointed. Purchased with the peel and dicing attachments. The peel is a complete joke!!! Also, bad if you are short on storage space. The bowl is big, the blade storage box is really tall especially if you have the extra dicing and peeling tray and then you have the base. Just so regret my purchase!Date published: 2019-02-01Rated 5 out of 5 by MrCoffee73 from This is the poor man's Robot Coupe! It has the same power and size as a Robot Coupe R101, yet has more accessories for every day use. The base is of heavy metal, with an automotive finish. It is very quick, and precise in all its functions. I have had mine for over a year, and never experienced any issues with the durability of the Lexan parts. The instructions are clear, however, that the components should never be placed in a dishwasher. But that is unnecessary anyway, because parts are easy to clean by hand. And yes, I do consider the price to be very affordable considering what you get, and what you can do with it. A separate peel and dice compatibility kit is available from Breville. With a combination of the kit and this food processor, you now have the capabilities of a Robot Coupe R2N except for the continuous feed chute, in a very compact, apartment sized package at less than a third the cost of the commercial machine. A true bargain indeed for a home-use food processor that is often used in cooking schools, working along side the KichenAid mixers. The base may be a little heavy to some users. On the other hand, the whole unit stays in place better and will not shake or rock. There is a trade off when a good induction motor is used. I don't consider its weight to be an excessive burden, however, as the whole unit is small, easy to grip, and easy to lift. This, of course, makes it easy for me to move around. when needed. I hope to see Breville making these little food processors for a long time to come.Date published: 2018-08-21Rated 5 out of 5 by dawnykema from Best food processor ever!! I had a cuisinart for years and had so much trouble with the bowl breaking, Just hated it. Decided to give a Breville a try and I am in love. So versatile with so many blade choices, and the best part if the adjustable slicing blade.Date published: 2018-06-09Rated 5 out of 5 by alfalfa from Works great Bought this for a wedding anniversay gift. My wife has used up three prior food processors and says this one is the best she's ever had. Lots of power, and works very, very fast. Multiple attachments and bowl sizes handy for big family meals. Don't use in a dishwasher as the plastic will likely deteriorate in that environment.Date published: 2018-02-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Gabrielle R from Truly a Tiny Sous Chef I've had my eye on this for a while and my husband purchased it for me for Christmas. I've used it daily since and can't imagine how I got things done before! I feel that my Sous Chef does actually fulfill that role in my kitchen - shredding cheese, dicing onions, making dips... The list goes on. I'm currently working on a massive freezer prep and could have never accomplished such a task without my food processor on hand. It's saving me hours of time in getting veggies and such prepared, and has even allowed me to experiment with stocking away some more exciting foods, like pate, that I couldn't accomplish with the other appliances in my kitchen. My only complaint is that the Sous Chef is quite difficult to store in our tiny kitchen. However, I wouldn't trade the powerful motor and bevy of tools for the convenience of easy storage. I quickly burned through the motors of four "apartment sized" food processors before graduating to this one.Date published: 2018-01-09Rated 3 out of 5 by Kale1986 from Solid features, nice design but brittle plastic I love the accessories that this food processor comes with, it's much more versatile than the Cuisinart classic I had for 15 years. The design is gorgeous and the base is a nice Solid metal feel. My biggest concern and complaint is the plastic that is the 16cup bowl and the bowl lid is very brittle. Ive had mine for over a year, initially about 4 weeks into using it I noticed a hairline crack in the bottom of the plastic container base. It was pretty small and would only leak a few drops if blending something really liquidy. But after a year or so I noticed the plastic started to Creek when I would screw on the bowl, eventually the plastic lid developed a crack and then when I went to tighten it onto the bowl it cracked and a big chunk fell out. I cover the whole in the life with Saran wrap now to avoid splashes, but I am a little disappointed. I am going to order a new bowl and lid but i had my Cuisinart for over 15 years before the plastic got brittle and broke.Date published: 2018-01-08Rated 3 out of 5 by MartaH from My old cuisinart was better I bought this a year ago. Wanted to use it the way I used my cuisinart, which is to say, I used it for everything. It is ok, but it's definitely heavy, not great for dough, and expensive for the quality. I'm starting to feel Breville is making cheaper products that don't perform as well as they used to.Date published: 2017-12-13
