Festive cocktails are a must for a Friendsgiving—even a virtual one—and these come together in no time thanks to Gaby Dalkin’s original mix. Inspired by the classic spritz, the cookbook author and founder of the site What’s Gaby Cooking created a vibrant blend of peaches, blood oranges, lemons and a bit of agave syrup for natural sweetness. Here she uses the mix to stir up two refreshing drinks that are just right for autumn sipping.

Ingredients:

For the old-fashioned:

  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 oz. (60 ml) bourbon
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) What’s Gaby Cooking Blood Orange Peach Spritz Cocktail Mix
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1 large ice cube
  • 1 orange peel
  • 1 Luxardo maraschino cherry

For the spritz:

  • 1 part What’s Gaby Cooking Blood Orange Peach Spritz Cocktail Mix
  • 2 parts chilled dry sparkling wine
  • 1 fresh rosemary sprig

Directions:

To make the old-fashioned, in a rocks glass, combine the bitters, bourbon, spritz cocktail mix and water. Add the ice cube and stir gently. Squeeze the orange peel over the glass, then drop it in. Add the cherry and serve. Makes 1 cocktail.

To make the spritz, in a chilled wine glass or champagne glass, combine the spritz cocktail mix and sparkling wine. Stir gently with the rosemary sprig and serve. Makes 1 cocktail.
