Springtime Slice and Bake Cookies

Featuring festive pastel stripes, this buttery shortbread cookie dough is great to have on hand for spring gatherings and seasonal celebrations. It's specially made for us by Sweet Things bakery – a San Francisco Bay Area favorite for more than three decades that specializes in classic American baked goods. All you need to do is slice the dough, bake it and enjoy.

• 3 dough logs (14 oz. each; 42 oz. total).
• Each log makes approx. 24 cookies (approx. 72 total).
• Shipped frozen.

Receiving Instructions

• The cookie dough ships frozen to arrive chilled. Upon receipt, store in the refrigerator or freezer. Well-sealed, the dough will keep for up to 1 week in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.

Preparation

• If dough is frozen, thaw in refrigerator overnight.
• Preheat oven to 350°F. While dough is still chilled, remove from packaging and cut crosswise into 1/3"-thick slices. Place slices on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake until golden brown around the edges, 10–12 minutes.
• Oven temperatures vary. Check after 8 minutes for doneness. Cookies should be removed before they get too dark to retain pastel coloring.

• Bread flour (unbleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), unsalted butter, powdered sugar (sugar, cornstarch), pure vanilla, green gel color (water, high-fructose corn syrup, glycerin, FD&C Yellow #5, sugar, modified food starch, Blue #1, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, carrageenan gum, xanthan gum), yellow gel color (water, high-fructose corn syrup, glycerin, Yellow #5, sugar, modified food starch, Yellow #6, carrageenan gum, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, citric acid, xanthan gum), blue gel color (water, high-fructose corn syrup, glycerin, sugar, Blue #1, modified food starch, Red #3, carrageenan gum, methyl paraben, xanthan gum, propyl paraben), red gel color (water, high-fructose corn syrup, glycerin, Red #40, sugar, modified food starch, Red #3, Yellow #5, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, carrageenan gum, xanthan gum, citric acid).
