A rich, smoky blend of Turkish peppers, tomatoes and green peppers, our braising sauce makes it easy to bring the authentic flavors of Turkey to your table. Simply brown the beef and pour in the sauce, then cook in the oven until the meat is meltingly tender.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb. (1.5 kg) beef chuck, cut into 1-inch (2.5-cm) cubes
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 Tbs. vegetable oil
  • 1 jar tomato Turkish pepper braising sauce
  • 1 cup (8 fl. oz./250 ml) water

Directions:

Preheat an oven to 325°F (165°C).

Season the beef with salt and pepper.

In a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, warm the oil until just smoking. Working in batches, brown the beef on all sides, 8 to 10 minutes per batch. Return all the beef to the pot, add the braising sauce and water and bring to a simmer. Cover the pot, transfer to the oven and cook until the meat is fork-tender, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Skim the fat off the sauce and serve immediately. Serves 4 to 6.
