Rated 2 out of 5 by gigi64 from Disappointed I owned a few Bunn Coffeemakers in the 80s and other than their small carafe size the brewers made an excellent pot of coffee in just a few minutes. I decided to try Bunn again with the full knowledge that this new system would take 10 minutes to brew and again had a smaller carafe (50 oz) than I would have liked. I couldn't be more disappointed. I have adjusted the measurement of coffee and changed brands 4 times in an attempt to brew a decent cup of coffee..all without success. Add to that the temperature of the coffee is just not hot enough especially if you add chilled cream or if your cup is out of the cupboard at room temperature. I've resorted to microwaving an cup empty prior to adding my coffee. I also cannot get a full 50 oz of coffee even when pouring in 54 ounces of water. The Bunn filters must have a sponge effect. I have 2 other brand brewers at the residence and both make much better pots of coffee. My only positive comment on this system is the styling and drip free spout. Both are excellent. Look elsewhere.Date published: 2017-03-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandma Gonnie from Very Good Coffee Maker I bought this coffeemaker two months ago. The reason I purchased it was because of the temperature it holds the coffee at once it's brewed. My old Mr. COFFEE coffee maker kept the coffee at a higher temperature. Within an hour the coffee would begin to taste like it was burnt. This is my favorite feature about my new Bunn coffeemaker. The coffee does not taste burnt even after the two hour automatic timer turns the coffeemaker off. Even though it says it is a 10-cup pot, it is a 5 ounce cup verses the 4 ounce cup of my Mr. Coffee. I have owned several coffeemakers, several Mr. COFFEE's, Cuisinart, DeLonghi and KitchenAid. This Bunn is by far the best for brewing and holding coffee at the proper temperature. You do have to measure the water but I have always used the coffee pot to measure the amount of water with the other coffeemakers I've used. I would recommend this product!Date published: 2017-03-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Janet from Great features! I had the Bunn Velocity that I really liked and used but the family avoided it because they always forgot to replace the carafe before closing the lid or to turn off the warming plate. Problem solved!!! This machine even has a timer. It takes a few minutes to warm up, no big deal. It pours out neat and hot with a smooth taste. The family has been appeaced.Date published: 2017-03-04Rated 1 out of 5 by kruss from Very Disappointed :0) After having owned a Keurig for many years, I swapped to a perculator and then saw this pot and fell in love. I had to have it and so I purchased it. Thrilled when it arrived, I read the instructions, set it up and made my coffee. Sad face :0( the coffee tasted great, but the temp of the coffee was, in my opinion, not hot enough. Considering I use cold creamer, I switched to powder even tho I had used cold cream in my keurig and peculator without issues. I end up having to put my coffee in the microwave to heat it up.....this is not coffee. I thought there was a temperature that I could change but realized I couldn't. Upon realizing I wanted to return it, I'm 5 days past the return date :0(((( Total waste of my moneyDate published: 2017-02-24Rated 1 out of 5 by sarcastic coffee from Doesn't Live Up to the BUNN Rep While there are tedious features about this coffee maker that make it a poor choice for the heavy coffee consuming family, there is one unforgivable aspect that places it in the 'do not buy' category. Our brand new coffee maker started brewing slowly after less than a couple of weeks. We didn't mind brewing a pot of vinegar solution in our 2 year old Cuisinart to limp it along until we purchased a new coffee pot. But needing to do it every other week in our brand new, twice the price coffee pot... It just isn't right. The tedious aspects that are easy to overcome are the two hour max on the heating plate. I can push a button for 5 seconds to turn it back on. The dribbling spout. Paper towels are at the ready for that mess. The coffee tastes great as long as the pot is brewing in a timely fashion. I missed the part of the description that said it was a 10 cup. The capacity is a big downside for us, but that one is on me. I am rejoining the review reading, coffeemaker hunters. It is a challenging journey and I hope these thoughts help you get one step closer to an informed purchase. Godspeed!Date published: 2017-02-19Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnnieK from Love this machine - Fabulous Coffee Previously owned the Bunn HG, the prior model to this one. It had some issues, as do many machines when first introduced. Bunn took care of the issues. This version, the HB is by far very superior to the original HG. It heats the water perfectly, to about 200 deg F. Then it slowly drips the water over the grounds. Golden cup of coffee. There's nothing defective about the machine taking 6-7 minutes to heat the water properly, and the Bunn filters are readily available. Make sure to use Bunn filters...they are a little taller than standard. Overall I'd highly recommend this coffeemaker!Date published: 2017-02-05Rated 5 out of 5 by bbelg614 from Love this coffeemaker!! I just love everything about this coffee pot!! Programmable, looks sleek and makes awesome coffee!! Would recommend!Date published: 2017-01-28Rated 1 out of 5 by Chris44344 from Very disappointed. Will be returning. The heating element in this machine must be low quality because it takes over seven minutes just to heat the water and begin the brewing process. The BUNN filters are flat bottom rather than cone shaped and the quality appears to be very inconsistent and cheap. I noticed the filters are randomly dense in some spots and extremely thin, almost transparent, in others. The coffee made with this machine was subpar (much weaker) compared to other coffee brewers I own (Wilfa and Technivorm) and I suspect it's due to the filters being flat bottom and very cheaply made along with how fast the water flows through the coffee after being released. Another issue I have with this machine is there's no drip stop for the filter basket which causes a mess every time you remove the basket to throw the grounds away. I always end up with a trail of coffee dribbles that I have to clean up.Date published: 2017-01-22
