Rated 1 out of 5 by ReneeWilliams from so loud, takes forever, super awkward I feel like I'm at the dentist when it is grinding. You have to open it and put beans in a very awkward manner, it takes forever, it does not par it out for you. you have to slide the awkward door on the bottom, unplug it and then turn is all around in circles to get the coffee out. It spills, and can not clean out the ground coffee. You can have mineDate published: 2019-04-24Rated 4 out of 5 by Schiffer from Brim brings a burr to your hands! Originally bought this to bring to work with me to pair with my pour-over kit, and French Press, but I have since brought it back home to use in a space not shared with others that aren't obligated to be around me, like family! The settings from course to fine are varied, and they produce some really incredible coffee grinds. I absolutely love that about this product, and think it is its best feature. The design is sleek, and I got quite a few compliments for it as well. I had no problem with the size, or the amount of coffee it would grind, because it said it in the description that I read before purchase. With that being said ... the sound certainly is not as loud as other grinders, spice or otherwise, but because it takes so long for it to grind the coffee, the sound then turns into a bit of an annoyance. While I didn't mind it, co-workers weren't very fond of its after several minutes. I have been using it for a few months now with no issues outside of that. Assembly really isn't at all difficult, and after playing with it for a few minutes, it becomes second nature to take it apart, and put it back together. I do recommend this product, but wish it didn't take so long to grind. But I guess you can expect some small trade offs with a product so convenient!Date published: 2019-04-05Rated 5 out of 5 by Jarrod from Perfect for the small kitchen and single user! I live alone in a small house — not a lot of storage space and I don’t need to grind enough coffee to make more than a cup or two a day. This grinder is excellent on both counts! Compact and easy to assemble/disassemble/store. Grind time seems to be about 1 minute — some have said this is slow, but I just start the grind as I’m heating water for the brew and it all balances out. The grind is perfectly consistent and easy to select different grinds for different brewing methods. Love it!Date published: 2019-03-31Rated 1 out of 5 by Jacqueline from Great high volume pepper grinder! I wanted something small that can quickly be put away in a cupboard without taking up a lo of space in the cupboard or on the counter. I also wanted a grinder that was capable of grinding one beans for one pot of coffee quickly. This grinder is perfect for the cupboard or the counter, stylish. Unfortunately, the grinder only ticked one box for me because it is slow....r ea ll yy.....ssssslloooooooow to grind. But, the most irritating issue of the grinder is the trap door the fresh grounds are poured from. This little door on the bottom, slides to release the grounds which includes shaking to get all of the grounds out. WHAT a MESS! Don't bother looking for the door on the pictures, not in the promotional pictures. Thank goodness customer service at WS will allow for returns.Date published: 2019-01-04Rated 1 out of 5 by jackie27 from This is a Joke Having had this for a couple of days I can only say that it is a joke. The hand-held feature only applies when ready to hurl it out the window. As a novely item it might have appeal but as its intended use as a coffee grinder it is more trouble than it is worth. The twisting of three components to proper alignment is a hassle to say the least. Once aligned it is slow and the amount is liminted to 26g. Not for practical use..Date published: 2018-11-04Rated 5 out of 5 by TheVinnyRater from Just What I Wanted! I was painstakingly looking for a perfect grinder for my needs. Wanted a Burr grinder, small, easy, and efficient. Then along came this one! First off, its gorgeous! Second, its super easy, and lastly, it super efficient and makes excellent grinds in any size, consistently! I don't mind the small size and amount it can grind at all as I am only grinding for myself. Also, with a full hopper you will get more then enough grinds. Buy this, you will love it!Date published: 2018-07-25Rated 5 out of 5 by The Gail from Great for my one cup of coffee I like this grinder. My favorite part ibeing able to change the size of the grind is great and easy. The grinder is much quieter than other grinders I have had! I find it grinds just enough for me to have a cup of coffee but if i want a larger pot i just grind in advance and store. It was ground great and made a delicious coffee and worth the extra little bit of time it took.Date published: 2018-05-09Rated 5 out of 5 by SteveP2000 from Finally a portable electric burr grinder. Had been looking for a small electric burr for years for travel to replace hand cranking my Hario grinder. Recently bought a smallish traditional electric but that was still bulky to pack. As soon as this Brim came out I jumped on it. Used it eight times on my recent vacation for my travel percolator. The Brim was able to produce the fairly course grind with a few steps on the settings to spare. The grind is fairly consistent, clean, and actually produces significantly less powdery residue than the highly rated $100 (bulky) burr grinder that it replaces. The grinding is a leisurely pace compared to my home KA, but goes at about as fast as a rigorous hand grind on the Hario. It manages only three scoops, so a full 8 cup pot takes two runs. The motor is not too loud and did not get hot, and the operation of the unit only takes a couple of runs to get the hang of. It's not my daily coffee grinder, but for travel, I'm a huge fan.Date published: 2018-04-30
