Rated 5 out of 5 by Dandelion811 from I love her!!! I've had this mixer for over a year and I love her! Bread and pizza dough are a snap, cakes, cookies, fresh whipped cream, custards, and yes people, mashed potatoes! In addition, I bought the meat grinder so I could make my own ground beef as well as caseless ground chicken breast sausage with seasonings and red and Fresno peppers...sooooo good! I haven't had a single problem with her; she just shines no matter the task or ask. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get this; I chugged along as best I could for years with a Viking hand mixer. Great little mixer mind you, but obviously limited in what it can help you make. This mixer has expanded my culinary adventures...I make the best pizza dough I've ever eaten since buying it.Date published: 2017-03-21Rated 5 out of 5 by Jabbathewocket from A worthy upgrade So I have had a Kitchenaid 5qt bowl lift since 1988 that has gotten a serious workout since purchase (bread or cookie dough at least twice a week since purchase) with that usage at holiday time ramping up to near constant use for bread and cookie doughs 2-3 batches per day for nearly 6 weeks for holiday baking! Nothing beats fresh baked treats as holiday gifts! Anyhow my original 5qt is still going strong, but its rather limiting during holidays (cannot really double or triple batch most cookie recipes without overfilling work bowl) So while wandering the local Williams-Sonoma I saw the 7qt in Candy Apple red just sitting there and bought it.. So happy I did! Quality and durability seem to be on par with my older Kitchenaid, its also very quiet and has had no trouble at all with even the stiffest dough in giant batches!. in addition the bowl is wider and it comes with a pouring shield which makes it so much easier to add ingredients with mixer turned on.. I also purchased the bowl edge scraper with the unit (something ALL kitchenaid owners should have.. brilliant and cuts down signficantly on scraping down the bowl! About the only thing I can say negatively about this mixer is that it struggles with for example a single egg white or a very small amount of cream when whipping.. but then again if its that small a recipe I just use a whisk or a stick blender! In closing this comes highly recommended for any person who bakes alot! FYI I still break out the old 5qt when cookie time rolls around and its still going just as strong!Date published: 2017-03-09Rated 5 out of 5 by cozettef from Love this Mixer! This mixer will handle anything you throw at it. It's a beautiful piece of equipment and works like a champ. I use it several times a week, but that wasn't an option to check in that category.Date published: 2016-12-15Rated 2 out of 5 by Killer68 from broken down in only a year We purchased this mixer for my daughter-in-law from Williams Sonoma a little over a year ago because she loves to bake and cook and, as you can see, paid close to $600 for it. In a little over a year it has broken down. The motor is dead. She turned it on and nothing happened. For the price, I would suggest you think twice about purchasing this mixerDate published: 2016-12-02Rated 4 out of 5 by DamaskAndPans from Yes it clicks when kneading, BUT... I have been using this since April 2016 and it only clicks when kneading bread dough, which isn't very loud and isn't for an extended period of time. I use the ice cream maker almost every week and it does NOT click when churning, which would have been a deal breaker since that is for 30 minutes! Of course no clicking when doing lighter jobs such as cake batter, etc. (I bake a cake or cookies every week). Overall, the motor is still SO much quieter than my old KitchenAid 4.5, and I just LOVE the extra power and bowl capacity. I can see a difference in the results of my breads/yeast doughs. In my opinion, the occasional-but-short-term clicking is forgivable. I only removed one star for the clicking.Date published: 2016-10-10Rated 1 out of 5 by marconw from Kitchenaid, click click click Like many others, I have a new Pro 7 qt mixer that clicks. Kitchenaid says the clicking is normal, but will not say what is causing the problem. There are a lot of people writing about problems with metal gears in Kitchenaid mixers. This seems to be a very poorly manufactured appliance. It would be nice if Kitchenaid would address this problem.Date published: 2016-06-28Rated 5 out of 5 by StevieBoy1961 from Really, really nice mixer We love it so far. Still need to test it with a big batch of bread dough but we're not worried.Date published: 2016-05-17Rated 5 out of 5 by woodydennis from more power wife loves the size. Had and old one ,4 1/2 qt for 25 years. this one has more power and can handle a double batch of anything. Now we have to think what to do with the old one -still working great!Date published: 2016-01-15
