Celebrate the fall harvest with a collectible kitchen-to-table cocotte in the natural shape of a pumpkin. Cast iron’s unparalleled ability to retain heat makes this piece a great choice for slow-cooking the season's signature soups, stews, pot roasts and braises. As practical as it is beautiful, the cocotte features Staub’s innovative enamel coating for superior performance, style and durability.

  • Sculptural base and lid replicate pumpkin shape, complete with "stem" handle crafted of solid brass.
  • Glossy multicoat enameling ensures strength and heat resistance—and creates a vibrantly colored "majolique" finish.
  • Enamel coating resists rust, chipping and cracking and requires no additional seasoning.
  • Black matte interior enamel contains traces of quartz to provide additional heat resistance and a textured surface that improves browning.
  • Made in France.

More about Staub

Staub traces its origin to the Alsace region of France, where founder Francis Staub designed his first enameled pot while working in an old French artillery factory in 1974. With the goal of creating the perfect pot for cooking the region’s traditional hearty soups, stews and braises, he combined cast iron, the most popular material of the time, with the latest enameling technology available. Today, Staub still makes its cookware at a traditional atelier in France, casting each pot in an individual sand mold, which is heated to 800°F and destroyed after use. The exterior enamel coating is made with glass powder and mineral pigments, applied in two or three coats to generate brilliant glossy colors.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought one of these Staub cast iron pumpkin pots in orange two years ago and when I saw the same pot in white this year, I couldn't resist. Had to have the white one also. My first purchase is Great to cook with and I love how it added to my fall decorations in the kitchen. I leave it on my range from September thru Thanksgiving. Even if I don't cook with it every day I love how it looks. Washes easily also. Now I have a white one also so my kitchen will have two great looks. They may be a little expensive but well worth the money. Watch for the sales Wm Sonoma has periodically then "go for it". You won't be disappointed!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this! I bought the pumpkin colored one recently, opened it to make sure it was in good shape and not damaged, and fell in love! It is absolutely perfect, and I plan to start using it in September. I will probably use it as a centerpeice on our table when I am not using it to cook in. ALL of Staub items are favorites for me, and I am sure this will be no exception. LOVE IT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Festive decorative cooking vessel This stab cast iron Pumpkin cocotte adds some cheer to our kitchen. It is very attractive on the kitchen counter. I have also used it for multiple cooking purposes. It can be used in multiple ways. I use it to bake in the oven, for serving vegetables and small portions of sauce or soup. The product is easy to clean and very durable. I have also purchased larger Staub cast iron vessels for family size portions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unsurpassed Quality I had another cast iron pumpkin from another manufacturer, but you can't beat Staub. The quality of the paint. The color is realistic....not a bright orange. Looks great just sitting on my stove as a decoration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks nice, but... I found browning or caramelizng in this to be lacking. A friend who also bought one noticed the same issue. Both of ours have a somewhat smooth black interior with the brighter orange ceramic glaze on the outside, not the burnt orange one, so I don't know if the interior has been improved. Plus, when stirring soup I've to be careful to get in all the crevices so nothing builds up in those areas causing lumps, burning, etc. I always put my soups through a chinois especially with this cocotte. It does look nice for the holidays, though. Even though it may say dishwasher safe, don't do it, don't even think about it. You take the risk of ruining the interior finish taking away its beautiful almost nonstick quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Pot I bought the orange one last year and have yet to use it. But when I saw the black matte i just had to have it for Halloween and I have used it. Can't say enough about it. Love, love, love.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this piece, but I want to warn others... I regret running it through my Bosch dishwasher (which is a gentle wash). Although it states that it is "dishwasher safe", it dulled the interior finish which is really one of the attributes to easy clean-up. Knowing that now, I must say, that I would love to own both the "black matte" and "white" pumpkin cocotte as well; it makes such a statement on the table. Excited to try the bread recipe baked in the cocotte, it was featured in the catalog; that looked tasty!
