Margo & Me
Jenny and Freddie, the creative couple behind the Margo & Me fashion blog, are inspired by all things Parisian. So, when they turned to Williams Sonoma Home to help reimagine their New York City apartment, they were dreaming of a modern, French-inspired entertaining destination. Lainey Hollis, head designer for Williams Sonoma Home, helped them achieve their new look with a sophisticated color palate and a thoughtfully designed space for entertaining and everyday living. Most important, it’s a place their adorable dog Margo approves of as well.
Next, the layout of the space had to fit the way Jenny and Freddie actually live. “We’re big entertainers but also love watching movies and playing the piano,” says Jenny. “The space has to easily lend itself to any of those things being the focus of the evening.” To get this effect, Lainey maximized seating while making the room feel open and inviting. The Yountville sectional sofa was the perfect fit for the space, and the faux suede performance fabric option made it ideal for the two dog owners.
Maximizing seating also meant adding chairs. Jenny and Freddie were immediately drawn to these modern yet inviting Montclair Swivel Chairs—as soon as they saw them they began spinning around in them with Margo on her lap. “The curved design lines in these chairs echoes the architectural elements in the room, so they were a natural choice,” says Lainey. In the center of the living space is the Pierre Coffee Table, a statement in travertine stone that fit the vision perfectly with a natural material and beveled detailing.
