Meet the Makers

As part of our commitment to quality, excellence and innovation, we provide many different types of foods, mixes, sauces and more at Williams-Sonoma, not only made by our professional in-house chefs and experts, but also by cooking and baking enthusiasts all over the world. On our Meet the Makers page, you get a special inside glimpse at the people behind some of the magnificent sauces, mixes, recipes and other products. Each “maker” brings something new and mouth-watering to your table, with a wide selection of ideas to make your meals extraordinary. With everything from barbecue sauce to chocolate chip cookie mix, here are some essentials we think will soon be some of your newest favorites.

Famous for much more than country music, Trisha Yearwood has had quite a few cookbooks top the New York Times bestseller list, in addition to hosting a cooking show. Yearwood has been able to bottle some of her best magic and ideas and has shared them with us and our customers. Look for items that are going to make your grilling and barbecue adventures even more spectacular this year, such as sauces, rubs, cocktail mixes, breading ideas and more.

As the writer of one of the most famous cooking blogs of all time, Gaby Dalkin has more than a quarter of a million followers on Instagram alone. Look for some of her spiciest creations to warm up your table, such as rich tomatillo salsas, guacamole starters and salsa and guacamole gift sets. Award-winning celebrity chef Michael Mina also has some terrific contributions on the Makers page. With rubs that are sure to make perfect meals out of regular burgers and ribs, look for seasonings, rubs and relishes to make your barbecue or indoor party a true success.

Mina’s wife, Diane, is also in on the fun, with a host of different items she’s created from her gardens. You can spice up cocktail hour with a little bit of her powerful Bloody Mary mix, or choose from other cocktail mixes to turn the heat up a notch at your next party. If the Milk Jar Cookies brand is one of your favorites, then you’re bound to love all of our sweet mixes, designed by baker and owner, Courtney Cowan. Your guests will never know you used a mix, with choices like chocolate chip, rocky road and birthday cookie to make decadent and wonderful desserts.

If cupcakes are more your speed, you’re welcome to try one of the delightful mixes featured by renowned company Georgetown Cupcake. Founded in 2008 by sisters Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne, even those who prefer gluten-free have a variety of choices when it comes to these mixes. Choose from red velvet, vanilla and more. For a fun treat to help cool down during the summer, Humphry Slocombe offers a myriad of different ice cream starter mixes to make homemade ice cream right in your backyard. Fun for the whole family, these starter kits make ice cream making seamless and simple.

If you’re in the mood for Indian food, Vikas Khanna has been kind enough to share a bevy of different sauces. Make classic Indian staples, such as coconut or madras curry. ThaiFusions also offers a wealth of different Thai spices, sauces and seasonings, if that’s more to your taste. Look for peanut sauces to make peanut dressing or pad Thai in a jiffy, or use Thai curry sauces to help gather all the perfect flavors. The name Izakaya Rintaro most likely brings to mind a vision of delightful Japanese-Asian fusion, and he offers several selections, so you’re able to make a traditional Japanese meal at home. Try making noodle soup with a little bit of starter, or use his soy glaze for cooking, marinade or stir-fry.
