Fry & Saute Pans

Unlike other frying pans and sauté pans, induction-ready pans conduct heat better and faster and spread it evenly, thanks to their basic construction of light materials over a heavy, magnetic base. Despite their light material, induction frying pans and sauté pans have high heat conductivity, which make them resistant to temperature warping and becoming brittle. This makes induction frying pans and other induction-ready cookware more durable and thus a wise investment. Williams-Sonoma offers a wide selection of induction frying pans and sauté pans that suits your particular style of cooking.

Our frying pans and sauté pans are available in different sizes and materials and with other added features. The materials range from cast iron, aluminum, copper and stainless-steel – all with a heavy magnetic base for optimum induction cooking. Although copper cookware is not ideal for induction cooking, copper finds useas a core between layers of magnetic and non-reactive surfaces in some of our frying pans and sauté pans. The copper core allows for a quicker heat-up time, making such pans ideal for searing and sautéing.

Our fry and sauté pans in aluminum and cast iron also come with their own advantages. Aluminum also has excellent heat conductivity, is lightweight, resistant to corrosion and more durable when compared to other cookware materials. Cast-iron fry pans, on the other hand, are induction-ready and come with the benefits of traditional cast-iron cookware. This type of cookware is highly durable, retains heat for long periods, has the ability to go from the induction stove top straight into to the oven and, perhaps most importantly, it infuses your food with iron. Cast-iron cookware works well for slow cooking and Dutch oven-type recipes.

Stainless-steel is the most common material for induction cooking, because, like cast-iron cookware, it is also induction-ready. Extremely durable and scratch resistant, stainless-steel induction cookware is a good choice if you prefer looks to go with durability. Other advantages of stainless-steel cookware are that it doesn’t react with food, and it is highly resistant to rust and corrosion.

Choosing from our extensive lineup of induction frying pans and sauté pans becomes easier once you have decided on a material. The next step is determining the features that you want from the cookware. Non-stick surfaces are available in some of our fry and sauté pans, and they are a convenient choice for quick-fry food, but not for searing meat. Different types of lids are also available, including see-through glass and flat lids. Other features available from our offerings of induction frying pans and sauté pans include interchangeable or riveted handles, fry baskets and splatter screens.
