de Buyer Mineral B
Filling your kitchen with essentials to make cooking even more enjoyable ensures that you’ll also always have the right equipment on hand. Some cooks prefer to rely on only the basics, while others require a full set to make large, hearty dinners for gatherings and other events. Whatever your needs are in your particular kitchen, having durable cookware on hand ensures that you can not only cook those large meals when you need to, but can also whip up fast, yet delicious and nutritious food for you and your family.
de Buyer is often the choice of professional kitchens and professional chefs, as its timeless tradition of devotion to quality and health has been long favored by those who cook daily. The de Buyer Mineral B cookware line offers naturally-made, durable and strong frying pans that are meant to last for many a Thanksgiving meal or a weeknight dinner. Available from us at Williams-Sonoma, these pans are made in Val-d’Ajol, France, by the de Buyer company and are bound to make a world of difference in your cookware ensemble.
What sets de Buyer apart from others is the natural materials put into making the pans and other cookware. For example, its Mineral B line uses 99 percent pure iron in its construction. The “B” in Mineral B stands for beeswax, as the pans are completed with a natural beeswax finish, so no chemicals are used while making the cooking surface of the pans nonstick. In each Mineral B pan, the mark is noted by a large B in the middle of the pan. However, similarly to using a cast-iron pan, with each use the surface becomes more and more nonstick and easy to use, and eventually the B will disappear, giving way to a completely nonstick and natural surface that you can cook on for years. These pans are not dishwasher safe; however, they never need to be soaked, as they are easy to clean with just a drop of soap and warm water. Like a cast-iron pan, these require seasoning prior to their first use.
Iron is a an excellent natural conductor of heat, and you may use any pan from the Mineral B line at very high temperatures. The country-style frying pan allows you to thoroughly cook a variety of different foods, such as stovetop casseroles, rice dishes, vegetables and more. Use the traditional frying pan for chops, burgers, steaks and breakfast items for a delicious outcome every time.
