Strawberry Basil Spritz
With its delightful contrast of colors and flavors, this fruity-herbaceous drink is the toast of the season. For a zesty accent, you can swap the basil garnish for a lime wheel or lemon twist.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. (30 g) strawberry jam or preserves
- 2 oz. (60 ml) Aperol
- 3 basil leaves, plus more for garnish
- 3 oz. (90 ml) chilled prosecco
- 1 to 2 oz. (30 to 60 ml) chilled sparkling water
- 1 small strawberry
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the strawberry jam, Aperol and basil leaves. Shake vigorously until well chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe glass or an ice-filled wine glass. Top with the prosecco and sparkling water and stir to combine. Garnish with basil leaves and the strawberry and serve. Makes 1 drink.
