The Italian table is a gathering place where everyone is family, so celebrate with a meal featuring rustic dishes that are sure to satisfy. Grissini, crisp, thin breadsticks, here wrapped in salty prosciutto, are a light starter, while a classic fritto misto (literally, “mixed fried”) is a fun first course. Although in Italy meatballs (polpette) and spaghetti would be served as separate courses, here we’ve combined them in the classic Italian-American dish. Sharing a tart made with figs nestled in creamy mascarpone is a sweet way to end the evening.
