Rated 5 out of 5 by PHR324 from Wusthop Storage Block This block holds all of our knives. While it is bigger than the common block sizes, it is overall mostly wider and does not take up any great amount of extra room.Date published: 2015-05-13Rated 1 out of 5 by FOURKIDS from WHY SO MANY SMALL SLOTS WUSTHOF??? I needed something to replace my black 17 slot Wusthof block because I want to buy a Wusthof cleaver, I got this 22 slot online. Here is my take on this knife block: What I can live with: The wood color is dated considering our stainless kitchen, white cabinets and black granite. I cant leave it out on the countertop but I can hide it in the pantry when guests arrive. What I cant not live with: it can "not" hold it's own brand "wusthof bread knives" . The slot beside the honing steel can only hold my 4.5" ikon paring knife, it is sooo narrow ??!!! I have two 9" Wusthof bread knives in Ikon and the Precision, It can only he held in either of the three wide slots as on the second level. The single wide slot on the third level is not deep enough = my bread knife stuck out. The next size, 25 slot, is ungodly big. It's like having a big chunk of firewood on our black granite. We trust Williams Sonoma, I know they are aware of this issue. I just hope Wusthof does something about it.Date published: 2015-05-08Rated 1 out of 5 by VIKINGREF from This is massive We got this online because we didnt have time to shop the store. Not a pleasant look on the countertop, way too bulky for our liking. The dark wood we ordered is pretty dated looking. We highly suggest to Wusthof and WS to consider black for the modern kitchens. The part that is mind boggling is that this is such a massive block - with so many slots for small knives. Note: It holds a cleaver and 3 slots for prep knives like Chef's and Santoku's - the rest are for narrow knives. We think we got shipped with an old item too because the logo is not as pictured, the logo was shallowly engraved, so it didnt really make it look appealling. But this is very minor, we are dealing with Willams Sonoma, they will fix this in a heartbeat. We returned, Williams Sonoma is such a great store anyway. We certainly found one we liked.Date published: 2015-03-13
