When we set out to design our own line of wooden cooking spoons, we stayed true to the "function first" philosophy of our founder, Chuck Williams. The wood is tumbled to create an ultra-smooth finish, and the gently tapered handle feels comfortable in the hand for a range of tasks. This blunt-end spoon is ideal for making sauces and gravies, as it serves as both stirrer and scraper.
- Blunt-end spoon reaches into corners and along edges and bottoms of pans.
- Made of maple or walnut.
- Handle is shaped like an artists’ paintbrush for a comfortable grip.
- Ideal for cooking with nonstick cookware, glass and porcelain.
- Designed and developed by Williams Sonoma.
- Dimensions & More Info
- 12" long.
- Made in China.
- Use & Care
- Hand-wash and dry thoroughly.
- To prevent drying and cracking and to preserve the wood's natural finish, periodically apply a thick coat of food-safe mineral oil to the surface.

Rated 3 out of 5 by 12bluecallas from Chips and cracks even with periodic oiling I bought 2 of these over a year ago because olivewood is supposed to hold up well and be a hard wood. However, though I have handwashed them and done the periodic oiling as suggested, the ends of my spoons have chipped and cracked. So disappointing. For the price, I expected to have and use these for a very long time, and now I find they will have to be replaced sooner than I wanted. I would give them 1 star for durability but 5 stars for look and feel because they do have a nice shape, feel comfortable in my hands and they are smooth. I just don’t like that they wear out quickly, even with proper care. I use the blunt end spoons and the round wooden spoons more than the slotted ones (for ease of cleaning). The slotted ones pictured haven’t been used since I last oiled them.Date published: 2018-05-22Rated 4 out of 5 by CIndyWi from Recommend but with one reservation.... I have had my olive wooden blunt end spoon for over a year. I always hand wash it and treat it with care oiling it on occasion. Nothing wooden goes into my dishwasher. I absolutely love the feel and shape of it. I do a lot of cooking on a daily basis. This is my favorite wooden "spoon." The issue is the end gets rough and splinters some. I recently started sanding the edge to get it smooth as I was concerned pieces of wood would break off into my sauces. This being said I will be purchasing another one.Date published: 2016-09-08Rated 1 out of 5 by Longtimecook50 from The walnut utensils are rough I purchased 3 walnut spoons online, having used wooden spoons for many years, happy to have some darker, pretty wood spoons to add to my collection. When they arrived, one was relatively smooth and two were very rough, just not sanded enough! They are nice shapes and sizes so I thought I'd try them, since I live far from a store, but the blunt end spoon chipped badly while stirring spaghetti sauce....very disappointing, and I am returning all three.Date published: 2016-02-25Rated 5 out of 5 by ShopperCritique from Incredible Feel I absolutely love this blunt end olive wood spoon. Not only for the wonderful shape with the blunted end, but the feel of this spoon in hand is seriously like no other. I even have other olive wood spoons that have never felt this special. Not sure what it is, but I've been cooking like a fiend for at least 40 years and this is the most wonderful spoon I've ever worked with. Who knew a silly wooden spoon could have this affect on me! Love it and am ordering more.Date published: 2016-02-15Rated 1 out of 5 by PMacW from Frays and Fades I am on my second one, and it's still the same. Despite it not being a good idea to put in the dishwasher, it deteriorates after one use.Date published: 2016-01-20Rated 1 out of 5 by UrsulaYvette from Be careful how you clean I purchased the Walnut spoons because they were beautiful and matched my kitchen. I made the colossal error of placing them in the dishwasher, and lo and behold, they are now faded. One wash. I was incredibly disappointed.Date published: 2016-01-05
