Rated 1 out of 5 by Coah from Agreed. Worst tool My pastry trigger also did not work basically at all. I also had to push the rod in the back by hand to pipe. Ridiculous. The tip gets stuck in the front. When first figuring out how to put the piping tip in, the part it goes in was so jammed it was difficult to unscrew so I juts assumed it didn't and I didn't want to break the tool. I also am a chef and this tool is awful. Back to piping bags.Date published: 2018-12-15Rated 1 out of 5 by Odysseyperson from Worst purchase ever. Useless I am an accomplished cook and gadget user who finally bought a cake decorating tool. I had been shopping for a pastry bag with tips, but this Willams Sonoma branded product with a trigger dispenser seemed even better. Wrong. No instructions at all came with the product. I figured it out, but the trigger was not powerful enough to dispense frosting without warping the mechanism. I used the pole itself to push out the frosting. No fun. The tolnwas so difficult to clean and the plastic so chintzy that I just threw the whole thing in the garbage.Date published: 2018-12-15Rated 3 out of 5 by Marcye from How to get the tips to fit! For the record, there are no Youtube videos on how to work this, there are absolutely no directions included in the box, and customer service didn't have a clue on how the device works (so shame on anyone who shames others for not being able to figure this out). The trick to getting the tips to fit right, which I finally figured out after man-handling the smaller coupler, is to unscrew the rubbery part of the coupler from the upper hard shiny plastic part (they come screwed together in the package). This reveals the inner part, which holds the tips in place, and the outer part which holds the inner part and the tip onto the machine. The inner part can be used with the larger tips and larger coupler as well. After that, it all works like a caulking gun.Date published: 2018-11-09Rated 4 out of 5 by Rebecca from Easier than a decorating bag Wonderful for those of us with arthritis to apply proper amount of icingDate published: 2018-10-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Nancy from Super easy on my hands! For months now my arthritis in my right thumb has kept me from decorating my cupcakes. Before giving up on my hobby I decided to explore the idea of using a decorating tool instead of the manual icing bags and tips. After reading the reviews of several I decided to visit a Williams Sonoma store and actually try several. After trying three different brands I was ecstatic to find that the Williams Sonoma Ultimate decorating tool was so easy to use. Once I was home I quickly tried my new decorating tool on a batch of gluten free cookie dough cupcakes. After 24 cupcakes (which looked amazing) I am pleased to say I never felt any pressure on my hand whatsoever! Thank you Williams Sonoma for creating such an awsome decorating tool!Date published: 2018-08-03Rated 4 out of 5 by Assembler from Assembled I had the same problem as "How to Assemble". To the novice user like me, it seems like there are two couplers. But in actuality there is one coupler and two tip holders (*probably* not the technical term!). One of the tip holders comes screwed onto the coupler. You have to unscrew it, add a tip, then place it (or the other tip holder) over the tip and screw it back onto the coupler.Date published: 2018-07-04Rated 5 out of 5 by Your Mom from Works like a charm!! Good grief! Assembling and using isn’t rocket science. If it was that big a deal a simple call to customer service would have done the trick, or say, googling a YouTube video! I’m an avid baker as is my 14 year old daughter. Neither of us have any trouble using it and it makes icing a cupcake easy as...cupcakes!Date published: 2018-02-24Rated 5 out of 5 by submit from This works fine! I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about. There are no instructions, but it's obvious. The tips fit fine and it's easy to use.Date published: 2017-11-30
Will this be able to pipe macarons?Hi TomL, This is designed to be used as a decorating tool and not a cookie press for making macarons. The generous barrel holds buttercream frosting, royal icing or whipped cream. The consistency of a cookie dough may be too thick and ruin the barrel. We do not recommend using this as anything other than a decorating tool.Date published: 2019-02-17
What is the tube made of? If it is made of plastic is it BPA free? What are the tips made of?Hi Rach, The tube is made of plastic but not BPA-free. The tips are made of 304 stainless steel which is highly corrosion-resistant.Date published: 2018-11-16
