Rated 5 out of 5 by RevCKay from As good as scratch I bought one mix because I was in a hurry. Then bought three more because this mix is as good as my scratch one and much less time consuming. I made one in a decorative Nordicware pan but had too much batter. Made one in the larger pan and perfect. Made a bunch in the small six little decorative pan and all turned out well. I gave them as Christmas gifts to the office staff. I’ll keep using it. Funny thing though the last one I used in March turned out to be a Devilsfood in the Red Velvet box. I mixed it per the red velvet directions and it was great. Didn’t notice until it was done that it wasn’t red. Everyone love it anyway.Date published: 2019-04-15Rated 4 out of 5 by carol from Cake Delicious..... But Red Velvet Cake came out delicious very red though. However the recipe for the cream cheese frosting is way off. I had to add way more conf sugar and still did not come out right. The cake does need a frosting to finish off so like any good baker would do I poured watery light frosting on the cake, then topped with a dusting of powdered sugar.Date published: 2019-03-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Duspin from Not a Fan Two things are a complete turn-off for this mix. 1) Red dye #40; and 2) The amount of oil required for moistness causes a greasy outcome. Looks great but tastes...well let's just say I didn't like it and I don't recommend it. For the price, no, just no.Date published: 2019-02-14Rated 3 out of 5 by SaraA from It was ok This red velvet cake was definitely easy to make but kind of tasted like a regular cake; nothing too outstanding or different. I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I'll buy it again. I also followed the recipe on the box for the cream cheese frosting. It was extremely runny! I had to add significantly more confectioner's sugar to get it thicker.Date published: 2018-11-11Rated 5 out of 5 by mformommy from Great cake mix!! I've made this cake 3 times now and each time, the cake came out so good so moist. It actually kept well too for a couple of days (it doesn't take long to finish the whole cake!). The cream cheese glaze is a must. It put this cake over the top.Date published: 2017-07-31Rated 5 out of 5 by LadyGofDunans from Rich and Delicious! I wanted something decadent for Valentine's Day, this year, and I took a chance and made this Red Velvet Bundt cake for my husband, who, generally, doesn't like Red Velvet cakes, as he reports, (and I concur), they are usually dry and bland. This cake was moist and rich, smelled wonderful, and made a gorgeous presentation; (I used one of several Nordic Ware bundt cake pans I have, with the cream cheese glaze, per directions at bottom of box). I have been gratified with the quality of the mixes from Williams Sonoma, and can count on them to impress when I serve them. These are Not cheap store- bought cake mixes.Date published: 2017-03-27Rated 4 out of 5 by Izabelly from Yummy with great aroma. Easy to make, end result was moist and delicious. Baked these as individual bundt cupcakes. They overcooked slightly - should have checked before 60 minutes.Date published: 2016-12-29Rated 2 out of 5 by Waltz from Expensive Brownie Mix Was excited to try with a mini-bundt Nordic pan, but the end result was more like a brownie with red food dye than a red velvet bundt.Date published: 2016-12-19
