Rated 5 out of 5 by Prr5 from Wonderful Wok! Bought this for my husband a couple of years ago and we LOVE it! He’s had multiple woks in the past and this one is a bazillion times better than any of the others. Copper conducts heat perfectly for use in Chinese cooking. Copper requires a bit of extra care - hand wash and use copper cleaner to keep it looking like new.Date published: 2020-01-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Melissa from GREAT for cooking at high temps! NOTE: you cannot — cannot — put copper cookware in the dishwasher. If you wash this pot (or any copper pots) by hand and then rub the outsides with copper cleaner, they'll be gleaming all the time. Copper heats quickly, so it's a natural for a wok, which requires fast cooking at high temperatures. This is a great product that I use all the timeDate published: 2019-10-30Rated 5 out of 5 by yumin from great wok i bought this wok a few months ago , good quality and easy to clean , use cooper cleaner after washing itDate published: 2019-07-14Rated 2 out of 5 by JayP from Quality Issue: Two small dents Delivered on time, packaging was nice. But as soon as I unboxed I noticed there are 2 small dents on the surface of stainless steel. Then I came to realize this item is "ineligible" for return, how? Well, I could use it, but this is certainly not the kind of quality I would expect.Date published: 2019-06-27Rated 1 out of 5 by maximtzh from Wash it with care Use it only once and put it into dishwasher. Now it looks super ugly and paints covered with all kinds of stains. I thin they should put "Hash Wash" in the packaging of this product.Date published: 2019-06-23
Is there a curing process that must be followed on the stainless steel (cooking surface) of the Wok so that food doesn’t stick? Thank you. Hi Gracie, There is not a curing process for stainless steel cookware, similar to seasoning a cast-iron pan. Here are some tips on how to prevent food from sticking to a stainless-steel surface: 1. Make sure the surface is clean. Small attached food particles can provide contact surfaces of the pan. 2. Make sure the food surface is dry and not too cold. Let food from the refrigerator rest for a while at room temperature. Cold meat sticks easily to stainless steel surfaces when cooked. Remember if the food surface has water, it will lower the temperature of the oil and promote sticking. You can either pat the surface of the food dry or in the case of fish with skin, slide a knife blade over the skin to remove excess moisture. This will also allow for a crisper skin. Some prefer to add a small layer of oil to the surface of the dry food to help prevent sticking. 3. Make sure the oil is HOT. Either add cold oil to a hot pan or start with a cold pan and cold oil. Both methods work fine. Advantages of adding cold oil to hot pan: a hot pan requires less oil to cover the surface perhaps as little as half as much. Hot oil is less viscous and immediately flows. Less oil will be also be needed to fill the micro-crevices and provide the necessary barrier between food and pan surface. In addition, the reduced thermal trip to target temperature will cause the fat to deteriorate less. How to tell if the pan is hot enough so food won't stick: The oil should begin to ripple, and spread quite quickly over the pan. If your pan is hot enough, this process should only take a few seconds. Ideally, you want to add the food right before the smoke point. If you wait too long, your pan will get too hot and the oil will start to smoke, then turn brown, after which damage to your pan can occur. The pan is hot enough if a few small drops of water flicked from your fingertips vaporize immediately, or if a larger drop of water hisses and floats across the surface of the pan on a cushion of its own steam. 4. Don't crowd the pan. Crowding usually lowers the temperature and releases moisture into the pan. If moisture is released, the temperature will go below that required to produce caramelization. As a result, no browning will occur.Date published: 2020-01-08
