Rated 5 out of 5 by Carl Hart from Great Copper Cookware with Glass Lids We love our new copper cookware. We have purchased the 10 piece set along with a 12 inch non-stick copper skillet. Luckily we’ve only had a few issues (copper chipped on rim of a sauce pan, loose metal inside the handle of another sauce pan and one of our glass lids shattered) and it was covered with their lifetime warranty. We bought this set in the store, and they just swapped out the pieces for us without any issues. Construction: Unlike Mauviel, this is not copper with a stainless steel interior coating. These are aluminum core pans with a stainless steel coating on the inside and copper coating on the outside. Similar to the difference between sterling silver and silver plate. Maintenance: I’ve seen a lot of complaints about how the copper tarnishes/patinas. Though this can be shocking on your gorgeous new copper cookware, it shines right back up! We ALWAYS hand wash the cookware with Liquid Barkeepers Friend. After about 10 uses, we do a thorough polish using Wright’s Copper Polish Cream. I am very satisfied with this cookware and absolutely love the lifetime warranty!Date published: 2019-02-22Rated 2 out of 5 by IrmaScherer from Looked Great at First I absolutely fell in love with these and received them as a wedding present. The pots as mentioned last their beautiful color through one use. They began getting water marks although they where washed and dried thoroughly after each use. I went back to WS and asked about best maintenance and purchased Mauviel copperbrill however that being the color back does not remove the terrible stains. While I don’t mind maintaining them for the color, I wish the terrible water marks would go away considering how expensive they are. I will probably replace them even though they aren’t a year old because they just look awful. Although the patina change is part of the look the water mark should not be. They cook fine but are sooo ugly now. I followed the recommendations for cleaning and storage and there’s no helping them. Super disappointed to have to spend so much and have something so unattractive. Now I’m stuck with them.Date published: 2018-11-28Rated 1 out of 5 by Rozelyn from Not Real Cooper It's heavy metal, but it's not cooper. I'm disappointed.Date published: 2018-06-11Rated 1 out of 5 by MissRobynL from They Only Look Like Copper-But Won't After One Use I registered for this set and was thrilled to receive it. It's so beautiful we bought and installed a rack to hang them from to show them off. What a huge mistake. When the set discolored after a single use, and could not be restored, I assumed it was a faulty set so asked that they replace it. They did (kudos for that). But the next set did the same. I am familiar with copper and the maintenance required over time but it certainly shouldn't be necessary every time - and they don't fully restore anyway. My grandmother had real copper pots and pans that did not discolor like this. I can only assume these are not real copper. Such a shame. They look awful.Date published: 2018-05-14Rated 1 out of 5 by MissInHouston from Disappointed in Copper quality We purchased the 10-pc Professional Copper Cookware Set on August 27, 2016. It has never looked the same after we cooked with it, cleaned and polished it. You have to polish the copper after each use. But even then the look did not last. Even when stored, it discolored. Very disappointing.Date published: 2018-05-14Rated 1 out of 5 by notveryhappyrightnow from disappointed I've used CopperBrill on these pits after each use & they still look ruined- the copper tarnishes after sitting on the rack for just a few hours in an air-conditioned house. Each pot turns purple after use & some pots have begun to tarnish with green spots that turn black after being polished. Not quality products.Date published: 2017-09-05Rated 1 out of 5 by Rowe1 from Fake cooper pots I got the whole 10-pc set as a birthday gift from my husband. But I was so disappointed when I used it. The stainless cooking surface were not non-stick & the copper faded off from the heat of the gas stove after single use. These were only pretty on display but not real copper. I returned the whole set and I hope to find another brand copper pots that are real & has a great quality.Date published: 2017-08-17
Has anyone found a solution to remove water stains? I use Mauviel cleaning paste to bring back color but doesn’t work for water stains. Hi IrmaScherer, Here's a suggestion using white vinegar and table salt: Rub a mixture of 1 tablespoon of table salt and 1 cup of white vinegar onto the copper with a soft cloth and rinse. Or, immerse the tarnished copper into a pot of 3 cups of water and the salt-vinegar mixture, bring to a boil and boil until the grime and tarnish comes off. Once the copper is cool, wash it with soap and water, rinse and rub with a soft cloth.Date published: 2019-02-23
