Rated 4 out of 5 by SousChefAtLarge from Good for large batch prep I bought this tool to save time doing food prep for a week's meals. I usually spend about an 1-2 hours on Sunday chopping vegetables according to a weekly meal plan and needed a way to reduce that time. This tool does that, but it's probably overkill if you intend to use it for one meal at a time. It handles about 3/4 of the food prep tasks -- I still need a cutting board to cut things into smaller sizes, peel things, get the stone out of stone fruits, core an apple, or scrape the seeds out of cucumbers. Tomatoes still need a serrated knife, so the chopper still kind of works in conjunction (rather than instead of) a chef's knife. But most things did fairly well and it reduced my chopping/slicing time in half. On the other hand, it could be designed better. The handle springs rest right where you pull the attachments in and out. It would be better if you could lock the handle in the upright position to get the attachments changed. Chopping works best if you put the softer side down and skins on top. You may have to use a pumping action to get through tougher veggies like celery and I had to use a spoon to pop out the attachments as I changed between dicing and slicing. Keep up with the comb accessory because it is vital to getting veggie scraps out of the attachments. Here is what I chopped with it: Pluots & plums: Handled the skins ok. Had to half fruit, remove the stone, then put the halves back together to cut into wedges. Not hard if you use a pumping motion. Celery: Cut into 4" pieces and pump handle to cut. Can't load more than 2-3 stalks at a time. Green onion: sliced nicely without turning mushy. Cut into 4" pieces and load a few pieces at a time. Red pepper: Sliced without turning mushy. Jalapeno pepper: sliced nicely, turn soft side down with skin up. Overall, I think it was worth the price given that I got 25% off. I like that the pieces are uniform and that gives my dishes more of a professional touch. I think the main problem is that the manual is so slim on instructions. People probably would have been more tolerant with it if some of these things were explained better (e.g., using a spoon to pop an attachment, cutting veggies into smaller pieces first, use a pumping action to cut, etc.)Date published: 2017-09-03Rated 2 out of 5 by dina from Confusing I bought this chopper today and decided to use it to make veggies for dinner. I wanted to change the blade but could not figure out how to do so. The directions that were included do not address changing the blades. Hope to see someone post instructions or a video. Very frustrating!!!Date published: 2017-07-22Rated 4 out of 5 by Newbie from Easy to use To change pusher, try running hot water along the sides,it works! You could also add a little vegetable oil along the sides of the pusher to make it easier to slide in. Will try the garlic slicer next.Date published: 2017-05-29Rated 4 out of 5 by redhstepson from Works good I bought this in the store and use it daily to dice or slice fruits and different vegetables. I make a lot of vegetable stir-frys and it works great for dicing broccoli, cauliflower, beets, celery, carrots, etc. I prefer smaller chunks of vegetables than larger as I will also use the diced vegetables in egg omelets as well as other dishes. I wish it had a larger dice/cube cutter as an option as well. Cleaning is not that difficult but you have to use the plastic finger brush to really clean out the top plate pusher.Date published: 2017-05-25Rated 1 out of 5 by ChristineW from Impossible to use You have to be huddles to use this chopper. Potatoes are impossible to chop. I had to use all of my weight leaning on the chopper with my arms to chop carrots. Potatoes impossible. Put the chopper on the floor and had to stand on it to chop them. The screws on the side popped out on the first chop and it's impossible to clean. The dicing blade is stuck in place I would have to use tools to pull it out and it's sharp. It's going back, they should have made it electric and figured out a way to remove the blades easily and safely. Do not bother with this, it's a waste of time and money.Date published: 2017-03-11Rated 1 out of 5 by Katie from Functionality is poor Just bought this chopper and thought the look and idea was great... The directions are no good. I had to use a lot more force then I expected to pull open the drawer and even pushing it back in was pretty awkward. The functionality of this chopper is pretty terrible and cheap. I'm returning it.Date published: 2017-03-01Rated 1 out of 5 by Sheltiejudy from Waste of money!
