Our uniquely designed tool simplifies poaching an egg from start to finish. Just crack an egg into the ladle base, then slowly lower it into simmering water and wait for about 10 seconds until egg sets slightly and hold its shape before you release it into the water to finish cooking. After your egg is done to your liking, use the perforated ladle to scoop it out while draining excess water.
- Flat base allows you to rest the ladle on the countertop as you pour the cracked egg into it.
- Extra-long handle makes it easy to remove cooked eggs from water.
- Holes quickly drain excess water from the poached egg—simply tilt back to pour out water.
- You can repeat the poaching process for multiple eggs, waiting for each egg to set slightly in the ladle before releasing it into the water to finish cooking.
- Developed exclusively for Williams Sonoma.
- Dimensions & More Info

- BPA free.
- Dishwasher safe.

- Use & Care
- Fill saucepan with a few inches of water and a dash of vinegar. Heat water on high until it reaches a bare simmer and bubbles start appearing at the bottom of pan.
- Crack a cold, fresh egg into ladle. Slowly lower the ladle with the egg into simmering water; it should take about 10 seconds. After this time, the egg white should be cooked just enough to hold its shape. Gently tilt the ladle to release the egg into the water to finish cooking. Poaching time depends on the size of the egg and altitude. Egg whites should be completely cooked, while the yolk should be runny.
- Gently lift egg from water with ladle. Drain holes are designed to drain excess water from the poached egg – just tilt back to pour out water.
- Dishwasher safe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Rosie25 from Terrible Product It is useless...it constantly falls over and the egg spills out. I have to literally hold it in place at the top of the handle. DON'T BUY!!!Date published: 2018-11-02Rated 1 out of 5 by Lolli from HORRIBLE!!!!!! This item does not work!!!!!! Note that it also comes with no instructions in the event there is a trick to it..... DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!! So disappointed that WS has recommended it!!!Date published: 2018-05-07Rated 4 out of 5 by anne86 from Great Product but not Accurately Described I can't believe I am only giving this product 4 out of 5 stars because I was so excited about this purchase but I have to be honest, the way it's described and marketed is not completely accurate. If the company would update the description and directions it would be perfect! As soon as I went to make poached eggs I realized I could not do my typical method of putting a lid over the pan, as this ladle handle is very tall. Basically this device allows you to crack the egg while out of the water (sitting on the counter) and then you gently place in the simmering water. From there wait a bit (they say 10 seconds but for me it took longer) and then gently tip the ladle forward and let the egg go into the simmering water. (I was surprised that the egg did keep its shape which was the main reason I purchased this.) I put the lid back on, waited, and once done the ladle scooped up a perfectly formed poached egg! All in all this does work great but I had to do so much research to figure out how to use it properly, which was a bit frustrating.Date published: 2018-03-24Rated 5 out of 5 by alittlespiceisnice from Excellent Egg Poacher! Perfect every time, if follow directions. Easy to use, and easy clean up! My kids love it too!Date published: 2017-07-04Rated 1 out of 5 by Ania from Do not waste your time This products simply doesn't work. I read the instructions carefully several times and gave the tool a fair try. Unfortunately, it's going back. The egg white floats out of the ladle and it is messy. The video makes it clear that this is not what you're hoping for. Look carefully, the lady in the video is having a tough time with it. I never ever return anything to Williams Sonoma. I love their tools. However, this one is a total, complete disappointment.Date published: 2017-05-26Rated 1 out of 5 by Tib B from An awkward tool Love poached eggs and thought this tool would make the task a bit easier and a bit more precise. Firstly, I found that the tool had a hard time staying up right in the saucepan. I could have used a taller pot so the handle had a place to rest, but that just results in a bigger pot to clean. Suppose I could have stood and held the handle, waiting. Boiling/simmering water caused the whites to float out of the ladle & swim around the pan. I ended up easing the egg into the water and used the tool to scoop it out when set. I did that much with a slotted spoon before this product was purchased. Am going back to the ramekin in boiling water school.Date published: 2017-04-21Rated 1 out of 5 by De54 from Awful!!! This does not poach eggs NOR does it drain the water once you take the eggs out of the water. This is quite possibly the worst product I've ever bought from Williams-Sonoma. Very disappointing as I had high hopes for this product. It is very different from the description. Do not waste your time or your money on this product.Date published: 2017-02-27Rated 1 out of 5 by JoJo72 from Awful Product This was the worst product I've ever purchased from Williams Sonoma. Despite its simplistic construction, it is not easy to use and it does not work the way it's explained in the directions. I've wasted so many eggs on this product and I have finally decided to stop trying. I am an experienced cook, and yet, I found this product very frustrating to use. I would expect better from Williams Sonoma.Date published: 2017-01-16
