Rated 5 out of 5 by Tatyana from Most versatile pan!! I love grill pans and for the longest time used double-burner ones. However after a few grease fire close calls due to fatty meats splattering I was on a quest to find a perfect grill pan. This one is beyond fantastic. What attracted me most is the height of the sides for safety and low profile handles that aide in more versatile storage. The design did not disappoint. In terms of performance this pan is pure perfection. Heats up fast, heat distribution is superior (no hotspots) and it retains the temperature for even cooking: perfect grill lines every time. Enamel made seasoning process amazingly easy: initially just brushed it with oil and baked it for half an hour on low heat. Since then I don't use any dishsoap to clean the pan: simply soak it in super hot water after it cools down and scrub it with tough nylon brush. Then just simply put it back on low heat to let the water evaporate. This approach gives me a perfect non-stick surface for anything I throw in the pan. Spouts are a welcome addition too. I love everything about this pan. Durable coating is just a bonus and deep red color is gorgeous. So, while easy to store away I love seeing it hanging out on my stovetop when not in use. All-in-all this was a "budget" buy which turned out to be one of the best "tools" in my kitchen. I highly recommend this pan!!Date published: 2019-01-24Rated 5 out of 5 by AltitudeCooker from Wonderful Staub Grill Pan I had purchased a Staub 12' long handle grill pan five years ago and loved it! Unfortunately it cracked one day while grilling and I needed a replacement. I looked at this grill which is made by Staub for WS. I got it in red and love the color! The manufacture seems identical to my original long handle grill and I actually like this one better with its short handles. The long handle didn't fit well on the stove and was always in the way whereas the two short handles are easier to fit on the stove, store in the cupboard and fit in the sink! It cooks identically to my original Staub pan grilling and searing the meats to perfection! The best way to clean this pan is to let it cool, and soak in soapy hot water for an hour or overnight even, and the cooked on bits wash right out. I always spray olive oil on the pan after each use and as it seasons it becomes easier to clean! Never add cold water to a hot grill and heat it gradually to high if you are wanting to cook on high heat.Date published: 2018-05-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Toby from Best. Pan. Ever. This started out to be an impulse buy. Boy, am I happy I went with my impulses! I've used this pan for lamb and pork chops, sausage, vegetables and as a searing pan for meats that have been cooked sou vide. Buy one - you'll love it.Date published: 2017-05-23
