Vintage Etched Wine Glasses, Set of 4
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not so keen from Beautiful vintage glasses I purchased the Vintage Etched goblets as the plain glass tumblers I usually use were scratched and unattractive. I purchased these goblets because I felt the etching would not show scratches as much as the plain tumblers. I love the design as it reminds me of my Grandmother's glasses. It matches the vintage style dinnerware I have. The quality is excellent-what I would expect from Williams-Sonoma.Date published: 2018-12-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Jane from Beautiful! Dishwasher Safe too! I bought these at the store so I was able to pick them up and see them in person before I bought them. They are billed as water goblets, however, I use them as wine glasses. My Waterford water goblets are a bit larger and actually hold about 13.oz so these should be more for wine in my opinion. Just my opinion, don;t shoot me! At least that's what I use them for. The heck with Amy Vanderbuilt and Emily what's her face! Anyway, I bought them because I don't have to fill them all the way up, and therefore reduce the risk of spillage. Also, I can put them in the dishwasher, and since they aren't lead crystal, there are no complaints from guests about getting lead poisoning, etc. (Yawn...) As with any glasses, they are delicate, but not so delicate or expensive that you have to worry about breakage. In short, I love them. Contrary to other reviews, mine haven't discolored or had any etching issues on the bottom. I don't know what that is about. I use a name brand dishwasher pellet and no issues at all so I just don't know. I am not rating as easy to store because I don't find any stemware/footed glassware easy to store. But over-all I have been happy with them. Hope this helps!Date published: 2018-10-04Rated 3 out of 5 by Mary from Discolored I use my goblets frequently and love the design. However, most of them have turned yellow on the bottom of the base. This is also happening on the tumblers. I've tried to clean it with everything, but it will not come off. Has anyone else had this problem? It feels like there is a plastic coating.Date published: 2018-01-03Rated 2 out of 5 by Debs from A problem I bought 16 pieces of this beautiful glassware 6 months ago (Thanksgiving 2016). With occasional use and glass protective dishwasher detergent three of these glasses now have etched spots on the foot of the some. "Dishwasher safe" and "durable enough for every day use" does not seem to hold true. My request for replacements was refused as the damage was described as normal. I like the pattern but am reluctant to recommend.Date published: 2017-05-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Farratelli from Excellent for parfait I bought these glasses for a dinner party to use as dessert parfait cups. They looked beautiful and were the perfect size for individual desserts. I would highly recommend them for this use!Date published: 2017-02-12Rated 4 out of 5 by HelenaS from Pretty Goblets Lovely, everyday glassware. Not only practical but aesthetically pleasing and dishwasher safe. Perfect!Date published: 2017-01-28Rated 2 out of 5 by ElliA from Beautiful but just too small. These are beautiful goblets but unfortunately they are just way too small. They are the exact size of the wine glasses. It looks like they just shortened the wine glass and called it a goblet. I was so sad when I received them. I had to take them back because they held hardly any water for my dinner table. Please think of increasing the size of the goblet to allow for at least 12 oz of water.Date published: 2016-11-24Rated 5 out of 5 by JLK55 from Beautiful only 1 problem I absolutely love these goblets. I also bought the wine glasses and the pitcher. My problem is that now I want to buy the tumblers and I'm running out of storage space! High quality with a nostalgic vintage look. They look great with my white beaded dinnerware and also with another dinner set that has a floral pattern. I'm very pleased and am looking forward to using them during the upcoming holidays.Date published: 2016-11-03
