- Use & Care
- Oven safe to 450°F.
- Before first use, hand-wash the pans in warm water with mild dishwashing soap.
- Due to this bakeware's heat efficiency, we suggest monitoring the oven temperature and baking time for the first few uses, then making adjustments to recipes as necessary.
- Use only wood, silicone or plastic utensils to avoid scratching the surface.
- Do not cut baked goods while they are in the pan.
- Pan will darken slightly with use. This is normal and will enhance its performance.
- Never use abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads.

The label is affixed to the inside of these pans with 2 globs of this sticky glue. Good luck getting it off of these "hand wash" only pans. I just spent 20 minutes trying to clean them, and now there is just a layer of thin glue smeared all over the bottom. Ugh. There are also some deep crevices in the interior corners of this pan- not sure how this would get cleaned? There is also a sharp lip around the pan with a large enough gap that I had a nail get stuck. What a disaster. Attempted to start a return but looks like they are non-returnable. Ease to clean. Not pictured is the large Williams Sonoma logo embossed on the bottom of the pan - giving each of your homemade loaves an ugly imprint. I always use each of these at the same time because a lot of quick bread recipes call for two pans, so it is fun to compare the results. The Goldtouch turns out a lot darker, but yes the bread slides out easier. However, the color and texture of the bread is perfect in the Traditional finish, and I think the bread comes out tastier and less chewy on the surface. I just have to run a thin plastic knife around the edge of the bread to release but that is no issue. I also just soak both pans for several hours for cleanup, and they are a breeze to rinse off. The key is to soak right away. I came back to this product description because I am going to buy another one of this traditional finish loaf pan. It keeps winning the bakeoff every time! And I love the traditional finish. I plan on using this pan forever. Others have mentioned difficulty cleaning, but I disagree. This is certainly not difficult at all. If something is stuck in the corner, soak the pan in water for a few minutes and then use a toothpick to scrape out the corner. I have never had a problem getting food out of the corner. I bought 2 of these pans because I own many pieces of Williams-Sonoma bakeware and love it all... however, this is an item I regret purchasing. Although they cook evenly and are durable, these pans are very difficult to clean because food gets stuck in the corner seams, just as other reviewers have stated. I know others have said you just need to use a toothpick to scrape the food out, but I feel that it is unacceptable to have to go to such great lengths to clean this product. It needs redesigned in order to be worth the price and to live up to the quality Williams-Sonoma is known for. Between working, being the mom of a busy toddler, and keeping my home, the last thing I want to do is spend 5-10 extra minutes tediously cleaning the corners of these pans. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, but especially not to anyone who values convenience and quick clean up in the kitchen.Date published: 2012-01-10
