Rated 5 out of 5 by Rebecca from Great tasting coffee I bought this coffeemaker based the reviews and the design with the copper. It does make an excellent cup of coffee and fast! comes out very hot and the taste of the coffee just bursts on your tongue. While it is a little expensive, I feel the handmade quality and warranty is well worth the price. I highly recommend this coffee pot.Date published: 2017-05-26Rated 5 out of 5 by dimo from LOVE THIS COFFEEMAKER! I bought this several weeks ago on the recommendation of the store manager in Austin TX (thank you, Ryan). I had huge reservations spending that amount for a coffeemaker but was so disgusted with shelling out money every year for the cheap ones. Now that I have my Moccamaster, I don't know why I didn't buy this years ago and save myself money and grief. Sounds silly, but making coffee is fun now. Love how quiet the machine is. Easy to clean. Great, HOT coffee. Neat look (looks DO matter). Not made in China! Catch this at a 20% off sale and you will never, ever regret the purchase. You really do get what you pay for.Date published: 2017-01-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Beagleman from What a machine! We've had a keurig (several actually) over the last several years. We were ready to get away from pods and have more control over our coffee. We couldn't be happier with this machine, with the first cup it was so obvious that we had been missing something special. Very smooth flavor, very smooth. Even inexpensive (8 O Clock) coffee tastes wonderful. I love how simple the machine is, one button. I love that its handmade and individually tested. We got the SS carafe...mainly because we drink one pot right away in the morning...I don't like coffee that sits on a warming plate. Brewing process is cool to watch, you can also close the filter basket to "pre-infuse" the coffee to get a little more saturation out of it. Only had for 2 weeks, but based on reviews we'll have it forever. Great buy, highly recommend.Date published: 2016-12-22Rated 5 out of 5 by benbax from Finally a great Coffee Maker Though pricey, it is well worth it. The coffee is delicious and hot. Love this Coffee Maker.Date published: 2016-09-07Rated 1 out of 5 by Birke from Won't buy another We have been buying and using the Technivorm Moccamasters for years. The last one, however, is not worth the cost. The carafe leaks when you pour the coffee. The carafe glass is thinner, and it broke when I barely tapped it against the counter. The coffee is not hot enough, even when it is first made. The auto shut-off is absolutely annoying. (Our previous model did not have this feature.) I definitely will not buy another. I don't know what happened, but they are not made like they used to be.Date published: 2016-08-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Yogibare from Great Coffee After owning the BonaVita for 2 years, decided to splurge on this one. Didn't think coffee could get any better, however, IT DID! We grind our beans and really love our coffee. With the moccamaster the coffee has such a wonderful flavor, brew time is quick, water temperature is hot- coffee stays hot longer. The machine is user friendly. Plastic parts are somewhat flimsy, however, the taste of the coffee makes up for that. Have only had for 6 days, so far so good. I'm happy with my purchase.Date published: 2016-08-11Rated 5 out of 5 by nancy3 from Great coffee maker We having been using this for a month and a half. It replaced a Cuisinart coffee maker which occasionally stopped in the middle of making coffee (probably because of overheating). It makes excellent coffee. Although this may sound like a strange thing to mention, we noticed that if we reheat coffee in the microwave, it still tastes very good. With previous coffee makers we've had, the taste of reheated coffee was not very good. The one disadvantage is that it has a large footprint.Date published: 2016-06-19Rated 5 out of 5 by NiagaraLoyalist from Didn't need to toss this one away I have had four coffee makers that hit the curb when grounds from the basket overflowed into the water reservoir. When I researched the Moccamaster the simplicity of its design sold me on the purchase. No thermal carafe, it makes 4- 5 mugs of hot coffee to drink up, or less if no guests about. Foolproof--- I can confirm this after six years of use. Only once have I overflowed the basket due to leaving the slide tab in the closed position, and it merely saturated the counter. We should all raise our coffee mugs to a manufacturer who isn't designing obsolescence into their product.Date published: 2016-06-17
