The key to brewing a great cup of coffee is a consistently uniform grind achieved with minimal heat. Technivorm’s ingenious machine represents a breakthrough in blade-grinding technology. Its upside-down configuration grinds the beans to the perfect size and allows the ground coffee to drop immediately into a collection container below, away from the heat of the blades. The result is rich, full flavor with no burnt aftertaste. This grinding system has earned the European Coffee Brewing Center (ECBC) Seal of Approval, awarded only to products that pass the extensive quality control and laboratory testing of the Norwegian Coffee Association.
- Creates the ideal grind for the Technivorm Moccamaster coffeemaker.
- Revolutionary design keeps grind safe from the heat generated by the blades, which can damage the beans’ flavorful essential oils.

Airscape Stainless-Steel Storage Containers
Rated 1 out of 5 by HoustonFoodExplorer from This is truly bad Makes one want to ask "What were they smoking when they designed this one?"As great as the Techinivorm Moccamaster coffee makers are, that doesn't translate, respect to this blade grinder. I cannot recommend this. 1. Expensive. You should buy a Baratza burr grinder instead. 2. Inconsistent grind size. Not a good thing if you care about your coffee. 3. Takes a really long time to grind and you have to tap the side of the grinder to assure that all the beans go through. What this means is that, let's say you follow the SCAA recommendation of 6 grams of coffee to 100 ml of water. You weigh out your 60 grams of beans to make 1 liter of coffee in the Moccamaster. Well, will the grinder deliver the 60 grams as would a Baratza or other burr grinder? No and/or not neccessarily. So you find yourself going in with a brush to knock the unground beans off the side wall, or shaking the grinder. 4. Hard to clean, even when using Grindz coffee bean shaped cleaner. 5. Did I mention EXPENSIVE, for what you get? I picked up one at a resale shop for $7.50. I checked it out for flaws and it was in mint condition. Hence, my comments here are for a unit in perfect working order. 6. Dust and mess. 7. Don’t accidentally grind with the top cap not in place. What a mess. 8. Powdery coffee residue on interior will oxidize and affect flavor of future grind. Hard to clean and necessary. More work than is normally needed.Date published: 2019-07-26Rated 3 out of 5 by MattC from Slightly disappointed for the money I bought this because I love my Moccamaster Coffee maker. After reading the box, I was shocked when I got home and discovered it is a blade grinder and the grind level is not adjustable. From what I've read, they think they've solved the blade issues, so I'll give the benefit of the doubt until I see otherwise. The quality of build seems good so far, and it looks nice next to my brewer. After using it, the grind works fine for my brewer, but it is not as fine as I usually grind, which means I'm using more coffee per pot. And of course, not being adjustable, this would not be the right grinder for a French press. As some others have written, I also find it annoying that when I grind beans, they don't all go through. This makes it hard to get the right amount of grounds to make a pot - I guess they think you'll fill the hopper and grind what you need, but that would lead to stale beans unless you're in a coffee shop grinding all day. Plus, after grinding, there are also coffee grounds left under the lid perched on top of the motor, so it's a waste. I also find it annoying that you have to hold the button to grind - in other words, you don't just hit start and it goes. This slows down my workflow - in the past I hit start and prepared the filter while the grinder worked, now I stand there with my thumb on the button until it's done. I would not recommend as a home grinder for these reasons. I would have returned it, but, of course, "all sales are final" :(Date published: 2019-03-15Rated 2 out of 5 by LRLQ from It's a grinder. I purchased this grinder since I had the coffee maker and thought it would be similar in quality for the price, the coffee maker is great. Even though I hold onto lid, coffee grounds still fly out, same with catch canister. Makes a mess on counter each time it is used.Date published: 2018-02-03Rated 3 out of 5 by Robert from Messy While it grinds beans like it should, one would think with the lid secured on top grounds wouldn't be all over the place, but they are. I am cleaning my countertop constantly after every use. While grinding I can see the grounds escaping from the top. Usually happens when there are not a lot of beans in the hopper. The canister doesn't secure the tightest which while I have been grinding, due to vibration the canister fell off and had grounds all over. If it happened after I had my morning coffee, it would be different, but before... So I have to hold on to the canister while grinding to ensure I don't have a mess. I'm sure there is something better out there for the money, but until it dies, I will continue to use it and clean my counters after every use because I spent too much money on it.Date published: 2017-12-03Rated 4 out of 5 by KonaMark from A Good Grinder With A Few Quirks Just got it and only used it once. Does a great job with the beans it grinds. The grind is identical to what I was getting from my old Saeco (made in Italy). Not all the beans loaded into the hopper feed through. The unit is top heavy; that is, the plastic base is very light. All the weight is at the top (hopper, grinding unit, etc.). It looks like it will have to be shaken to get all the beans to feed through. We'll see. After having bought three different Baratza grinders (all of which failed), I'm hoping this one will last. And the motor gets hot fast. The manual says not to grind for more than one minute at a time. Time will tell. Glad my old Saeco still works, just in case.Date published: 2015-09-23Rated 5 out of 5 by dustypages from Daily Grind The Technivorm Moccamaster Grinder is a great mate for the Technivorm Moccamaster Brewer. The grind is just right for a perfect cup of coffee! The grinder is easy to use, with no guess-work, and delivers a consistent grade every time. It is easy to clean and looks fabulous on the counter, right next to the Moccamaster Brewer! There is a reason Technivorm is among the leading names of all things coffee!Date published: 2015-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by RNCook from Great, despite other reviewers I'm really not sure why other reviewers have rated this negatively. Here are the facts: A. Is this just a stainless steel grinder? Yes B. Can you adjust the grind: No C. Is the grind output perfect for the Moccamaster Technivorm brewers? Absolutely Yes. That last point is really all that matters. If you're willing to spend $300+ for a Moccamaster, then naturally you would want the perfect grinder to match it. If you want something cheap that is not designed for that perfect brew look elsewhere.Date published: 2015-08-02Rated 4 out of 5 by menkor from Consistently good grind Concerned about it not being a burr grinder, but decided to try it anyway. The coffee is consistently ground and delicious, especially in my Moccamaster brewer. Only problem I encountered was getting the basket on and off. Had a burr grinder (barista, I believe), but this is much easier to use, and minimal maintenance, compared to the burr grinder. I have used it for a year, and if I had to replace it, it would be another Moccamaster grinder.Date published: 2014-12-09
