Rated 5 out of 5 by Mere924 from Highly recommend! Bought this to make tarts for a Mother's Day brunch I was hosting. (This was my first time making them) Like other reviewers I was nervous that the cutter was not large enough, it turns out it worked perfectly (don't roll the dough to thin). There was ample room for filling. The non stick feature was like a dream, couldn't believe how easily they came out! One reviewer was disappointed that it was hollow. All of my baking sheets are also hollow. The layer of air helps prevent scorching the bottoms of your baked goods by not having it directly on the heated racks. At least that's what I've been told. All in all 10/10!Date published: 2017-05-15Rated 2 out of 5 by sydneyandlondon from too shallow for me Just received this product, and found that the wells are too shallow for me. Don't think it's possible to put any fillings in. Probably will return this one... :( so sad !Date published: 2017-01-05Rated 4 out of 5 by TMNJ from First time tart maker The pan works well. I am less pleased with the dough cutter though. I had better luck with a round biscuit cutter a bit larger than the shaped cutter. You then get enough dough to make a strong rim around the top of the shell.Date published: 2016-08-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Nonie1 from Best tart set ever I love, love, love this set. Makes beautiful, professional looking tarts, and super easy to use. So glad I bought this. Will order more as gifts.Date published: 2016-01-03Rated 5 out of 5 by BadKitty from Excellent Tool I found a great recipe for mini tarts and did not have a tart pan. I looked around until I found this one and it is fabulous. The round cutter works perfectly (right size for each tart), the pressing gadget worked beautifully, and the pan itself was great quality. I made the tarts (savory and sweet) and was very happy with the results. This item is a great tool to have in your kitchen!Date published: 2015-12-18Rated 5 out of 5 by jjbaker from Excellent if used correctly I got the set to work just perfectly. Mine turned out identical to the pictures on the box. ***The round cutter is NOT too small.*** Here are a few tips that I learned. I used the sweet classic tart dough recipe from America's Test Kitchen Cookbook. 1- Make sure to roll the dough out thick enough. I have a fondant rolling pin that has guide rings that I use. You can use wooden dowels that are 4.5 mm thick if you use a regular rolling pin. 2. Before you press a circle into the pan lightly dust it with flour, or the tamper will get stuck to the dough. 3. Use the tamper and press firmly until the dough barley rises above the rim of the cup. 4. Don't worry if the dough looks thin, the dough will puff up a little bit. 5. Don't forget to freeze the dough, and don't blind bake. I used mini cupcake cups that I fill with rice, just making the bottom bigger to fit snugly inside the frozen tarts. I would highly recommend this set! I love it!!Date published: 2015-09-10Rated 4 out of 5 by Beerski from Almost perfect I wish the round cutting device was just slightly larger, as it is it doesn't quite fill in the form to the top, so I found a lot of my initial tray to be short on one side after pressing them in with the presser device. So I think the next tray I will just use one of my larger circle cutters to get something that will fit better. The end result was wonderful, just slightly shorter than I was wanting (on one side). I had a hard time getting them centered so all sides would be shorter.Date published: 2015-06-22Rated 4 out of 5 by gprovida from Small cute easy to make tartlets I have made the included recipe many times and had good success. I've done gluten and gluten free (American Test Kitchen sweet gluten free dough works great) tartlets including lemon curd, sour cherry pie, Frangipane, and quiche filling. For many recipes you want to blind bake and if you freeze the tartlets before baking you get nice forms to fill either cooked or refrigerated. The biggest lesson was don't over fill,a couple of teaspoons or at most a tablespoon. I ended up getting two pans so I can bake 24 tartlets at a shot in the oven, rotate once during baking. Ideally a wider range of recipes would be valuable versus adapting and experimenting.Date published: 2014-07-24
