Rated 5 out of 5 by Chef Lisa from FAVORITE PAN! I am a culinary schooled chef and pastry chef. I own 6 of these pans. They can make so many elegant sweet and savory items that look very impressive, yet it is as easy as baking cookies. I have read some of the other reviews where people were having issues. Number one, pie dough should ALWAYS be baked from frozen to prevent shrinking, so pop them in the freezer for 20-30 mins or longer before baking. And, the cutter is plenty large enough. Put enough pressure on the presser and the dough fills the wells perfectly. As always, the dough needs to be the right temperature when working with it, not TOO hard and cold, but not sticky and melty either. I have had zero issues with this pan, and have so many ideas for it. For sweet, a shortbread type crust is delicious, but also a hazelnut or chocolate shortbread and more could be really fun. Buy this pan, but getting 2 or more is even better, so some can be freezing, baking and getting filled all at the same time.Date published: 2019-08-15Rated 3 out of 5 by Lou01 from Love this pan BUT The pan and idea is great, however the cutter needs to be about 1/2 inch larger in diameter. I made these with pie dough and they barely filled the opening. Used pie beads and the tarts shrank so I could hardly fill. Used a cookie cutter 1/2 in larger and it was perfect, just not as prettyDate published: 2019-01-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Evans28 from Amazing I bought this last year and I finally used it. I don’t know what took me so long!!!! I had no problems whatsoever... I will say you’ll need to push down on the tamper so the crust comes up the sides. I will definitely be buying a couple more...Date published: 2018-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by RebeccaG from I love this mini-tart pan! I was skeptical upon reading some of the negative reviews, but I absolutely love this mini-tart pan - so much that I bought a second one! You can make mini-quiches, mini-pies and so many things with it. I do have a tip though. Instead of the cutter that comes with the kit, I use a slightly larger one as shown here. It is only very slightly larger but I find it works great. You still only use about a tablespoon of filling as almost any filling you use will puff up a lot during cooking. The tarts slide right out, are beautiful and special but SO EASY to make! I just use any recipe for a pie or quiche and it works fine. I also found I can use a single frozen pie crust (terrible, I know) and get 12 tarts out of it, or two pie crusts (one box of frozen) if I do a top crust. It's fun to use a cookie cutter to make a little leaf for the top crust, or do a tiny lattice.Date published: 2018-10-12Rated 1 out of 5 by Gsanti from Very disappointing! As many reviewers have pointed out, the cutter is much too small. The dough does not fill the cups at all. The finished crusts are almost flat. For those who have had success I wonder how. I wish that this set came with instructions beyond what is on the box, that might clear up my confusion.Date published: 2018-02-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Sherry from Excellent cookware I was hesitant to buy it because some reviews said it is very hollow. After I got it, I relied it was normal size. You can cook two size of tart base depending on how you cut the dough. I took some photo during cooking mini apple pie (left) which more deep base. Hopefully it can help everyone enjoy this beautiful cookware.Date published: 2017-11-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Mere924 from Highly recommend! Bought this to make tarts for a Mother's Day brunch I was hosting. (This was my first time making them) Like other reviewers I was nervous that the cutter was not large enough, it turns out it worked perfectly (don't roll the dough to thin). There was ample room for filling. The non stick feature was like a dream, couldn't believe how easily they came out! One reviewer was disappointed that it was hollow. All of my baking sheets are also hollow. The layer of air helps prevent scorching the bottoms of your baked goods by not having it directly on the heated racks. At least that's what I've been told. All in all 10/10!Date published: 2017-05-15Rated 2 out of 5 by sydneyandlondon from too shallow for me Just received this product, and found that the wells are too shallow for me. Don't think it's possible to put any fillings in. Probably will return this one... :( so sad !Date published: 2017-01-05
