- More about Swiss Diamond
Based in Sierre, Switzerland, Swiss Diamond began in 1974 as a scientific research company that explored new materials and surface coatings. As the demand for nonstick cookware exploded in the 1990s, the company developed a method of reinforcing a nonstick composite with real diamond crystals. The result was an extremely hard, scratch-resistant and heat-conductive nonstick surface. In 2011, the company launched Swiss Diamond, the first cast-aluminum cookware featuring the patented coating. Swiss Diamond continues to test and improve its nonstick cookware while employing ecologically sustainable practices. Notably, it uses 100% recycled aluminum to make its cookware, the factory is powered by 100% hydroelectric power from the Swiss Alps, and the nonstick-coating production process is free of PFOA from start to finish.
Rated 5 out of 5 by LawyerMom from I love these peelers! so happy I purchased these! Lightweight, but handle potatoes easily. Very sharp, though, so be careful with your fingers!Date published: 2017-05-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Decorateme from Sharp and light I love these peelers. I've had for almost 2 years and they work perfect every time. There is minimal waste because they are so light so they do not crush the produce while peeling. Highly recommended.Date published: 2016-08-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Vivi68 from No more mangled kiwis These peelers are very light and very sharp. I've mostly used the serrated one so far. It makes peeling soft kiwis and tomatoes a breeze. I tried out the straight- edge peeler on carrots - it works well if you peel carrots, which I generally don't. Looking forward to using it more when we start using the winter vegetables like sweet potatoes and squash. Swissmar has excellent customer service. I lost one of the plastic guards that cover the blades so you don't cut yourself when pulling them out of your drawer. I called the company and the person responding (I think her name was Lori), sent me several more. It would be nice if the guards were color coded. It's easy to lose a small piece of clear plastic in your kitchen - at least it is for me. I now have put a piece of colored tape on each guard so they are easier to spot.Date published: 2014-09-07Rated 4 out of 5 by Mihaya from So helpful, I bought a set for a friend. Great for peeling papaya, tomato skin, etc. The julienne peeler is also good and much handier than having to clean the food processor for just a few strips. The plain peeler is nothing special (thus 4 stars instead of 5). They all clean easily.Date published: 2014-07-04Rated 1 out of 5 by Cherilovestocook from My least favorite peelers I found them cheaply made and did not do the job they were intended for ...so returned them. Maybe it was just me based on the other reviews I read.Date published: 2014-05-28Rated 5 out of 5 by branna from best peelers ever! I've used two of three peelers so far. I peeled both peaches and tomatoes with the serrated one with no trouble. The general peeler is very fast and comfortable in my hand. Thinking of giving this set as stocking stuffers to the cooks in my family.Date published: 2013-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by ChefOrgana from Handy Tools These peelers are very handy to have in your kitchen tool collection. Each one has a useful function. I was particularly impressed with the serrated edge peeler that will peel the skin from more delicate items such as kiwi.Date published: 2013-08-17Rated 5 out of 5 by FoodieJane from Awesome Peelers These peelers are amazing. I can get through a bag of carrots or potatoes so fast with the straight-edged peeler. The serrated peeler makes difficult tasks like peeling butternut squash and mango a breeze. I don't use the julienne blade as often as the other two, but it is really convenient when I want some carrot or cheese shreds for salads.Date published: 2013-04-19
