Rated 3 out of 5 by jimj from cute but really hard to put together this was a nightmare... after a few frustating hours and no way of returning... I turned to the reviews and found that if I worked from bottom up and put the rods in as I go, it was easier to get the shelves in place, then I used a hammer to bang them in the rest of the way. Don't tighten the screws all the way until the end.Date published: 2019-06-28Rated 1 out of 5 by Tini12345 from Set aside a day to struggle with assembly We bought this for wine storage and realize it was inexpensive so you get what you pay for. This took us an entire day and a hammer to put together. The wood was entirely morphed and didn't match up at all. We literally struggled for hours putting this together. The assembly was so bad that at one point I thought about returning it to W&S. The wood chipped quite a bit and is very basic- nothing special to this at all. Spend a little more and get something nicer.Date published: 2018-05-21Rated 5 out of 5 by RNSue from Great wine rack Very nicely made. I put it together in about 30 minutes. Have viewed the previous reviews stating it was difficult to put together, but I did not find this to be the case at all. I am a 60 y.o. female and if I can do it anyone can. It's very sturdy and looks nice. Very happy with this purchase.Date published: 2016-12-06Rated 2 out of 5 by Teach68 from Disappointing Quality This is our second purchase of this product. Purchased one several years ago from a different supplier. Thrilled to find it at W-S but very disappointed in the quality. Arrived with damage to the side of the top shelf. Not surprising since bubble wrap appeared to be thrown into the shipping box. Long edges of the top shelf rough cut while other shelves nicely finished. Some top shelf nail heads sticking up while those flush with shelf showed hammer indentations. Bottle separaters stapled to shelves but some were raised by as much 3/16" leaving a noticeable space. Not the quality we would expect at this price from W-S.Date published: 2016-11-29Rated 2 out of 5 by Masada70 from I "wood" not buy this again The shelf came tightly packed and I kept the materials in the box overnight to adapt to the inside temperature. Upon removing the pieces, the vertical supports quickly warped, making assembly quite laborious. It is no small task to install the metal supports into warped wood and maneuver the shelves onto the metal supports. If I had it to do again, I'd buy a metal wine rack.Date published: 2015-05-14Rated 4 out of 5 by nso4th from Good wine rack but buy with caution. We recently purchased a second 120 bottle rack to go along with the one we had purchased a number of years ago. I could accept with some difficulty that the price was twice what we had paid but I was certainly disappointed by the decrease in the quality of the product. Each upright and shelve was fully 20% thinner than our older rack and the uprights arrived warped almost beyond use. It was quite the feat to stretch the wood to fit the shelves. Time will tell if the thinner, warped wood will hold up. Those criticisms of poorer quality product aside, I would say this is still an above average storage system but I would not necessarily say it is a good value any longer. For safety's sake we added cross bracing to the rack and anchored it to a stud. I would strongly recommend that to anyone purchasing.Date published: 2013-07-14Rated 5 out of 5 by robinemcd from Great Basic Wine Rack We had one of these racks from a few years back and purchased a second one recently. They are solid, hold wine steady and fit most size bottles and fit the space that we have for them.Date published: 2013-04-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Scottw50 from What a great Wine Rack! In typical Scandinavian fashion, this wine rack goes together simple as pie. Took me 20 minutes to assemble and it is steady as a rock. Couple of things to pay attention to...make sure the notched side of the long rack ends are facing each other. The shelve then lock in to the notches. Assemble the four end pieces first and then add the bottom rack. If you make sure you only put a single turn on the rod ends, you can put the top piece in and then insert the rest of the shelves between the ends and slide them in until they lock on the other side. Tighten the nuts, and you are done. Looks great out of the box and is made of European pine so you can stain it any color you want to match your decor.Date published: 2013-04-14
