Rated 5 out of 5 by Patricia from Not just a teapot! I bought this because I love that it's made in France and it's beautiful to look at. I haven't tried this yet but if I wanted to, I could use it to heat up a portion of soup, or keep warm and serve gravy! It completely opens up and cleans super easily just like my other enamel cast iron pieces. I love it!Date published: 2017-11-06Rated 5 out of 5 by runningmama from Perfect Little Tea Pot! I have been using my Staub tea kettle for just about a month and I love it. It is such a pretty little kettle and is perfect for making just a cup or two of tea. The graphite color is lovely! It is easy to fill, boils quickly, and is very easy to clean. Be aware that you will need a potholder to remove it from the stove.Date published: 2017-07-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Kenric from QUALITY I Purchased the the Basil over a year ago ..and it still looks great .....i love having my green tea ....so it was the perfect gift to my self ..i need to find the mugs to matchDate published: 2017-06-18Rated 3 out of 5 by Fatima from Graphite color is GREY not white as in pictures Graphite color is very grey definitely nothing close to white as shown in pictures. Also, much smaller than expected. Enough capacity for maybe two cups otherwise due to its low flat beak would overflow when boiling. Takes about 8 minutes to boil on a gas range. Requires a glove or towel to touch. Otherwise it's a pretty tea kettle.Date published: 2017-05-16Rated 2 out of 5 by jgranite from Over-priced In my quest for a non-made-in-China tea kettle, I decided to try the Staub. Though, even with a discount and a gift card, it's still not cheap, and in the end, not worth it. The green shade is lovely, and it's a cute little pot, but it is quite small and heavy. The spout does not pour smoothly, and the handles are awkward and clank around a lot (you have to put them on yourself, so they are not tight fitting). The biggest issue, however, and definitely a deal-breaker, is the lack of a whistle. Within two weeks of purchase, I had forgotten to set a timer, and left it on the burner too long. The enamel melted off the bottom of the kettle and onto the burner (electric stove). Both are still usable, but the burner is now solely relegated to the tea kettle. Unfortunately, last week I did the same thing -- this time it was on the burner for so long that the bottom interior bubbled. Our house is not very big, and when I have a normal pot on the stove, I can hear when it's boiling. But this tea kettle is solid and not going anywhere, so it's very difficult to tell from the next room that it's boiling. Granted, it is user-error, and I take full responsibility for the silliness. But no tea kettle should be so high maintenance, esp. one as expensive as this. I will never again buy one without a whistle! I had no idea it would be such an issue. I don't look forward to more research on the next one to buy -- most tea kettles are cheaply made, and even my favorite US pot/pan manufacturer makes theirs in China. (BTW, those cute little Staub pot-top critters are made in China as well)Date published: 2017-05-13Rated 4 out of 5 by SuzanneNYC from Perfect little teapot Very cute little teapot...boils water very fast I only wish it did have a whistle as it's wonderful until of course you forget it ha! I purchased the snail knob to add a little charm to it.Date published: 2016-06-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Laurienda from Lovely teapot I've used my Staub round teapot for several years. It keeps tea warm for such a long time and visually is a delight. I drain and dry it each time I use it--I do not let water sit in it because I was using it in a city with hard water. It looks like new. The tea strainer is very nice, too. I've not had any problems with the appearance or durability of this item. Top quality in performance.Date published: 2016-06-15Rated 5 out of 5 by BetteDavisEyes from beautiful tea kettle I bought this kettle because it was so beautiful, but primarily because of its enamel interior. I have discarded so many kettles because they develop spots inside which are impossible to clean. I just don't feel safe boiling and drinking water from them, so out they go. It's easy to clean the interior of this kettle, and I do so just about every time I use it, so I feel much better about the tea I'm drinking. Mine is basil, which is a beautiful, rich shade. I also love its petite size. I store it on a windowsill when not in use. I wish it had a whistle, but I've learned to watch more carefully without one.Date published: 2016-06-06
