- More about Staub
Staub traces its origin to the Alsace region of France, where founder Francis Staub designed his first enameled pot while working in an old French artillery factory in 1974. With the goal of creating the perfect pot for cooking the region's traditional hearty soups, stews and braises, he combined cast iron, the most popular material of the time, with the latest enameling technology available. Today, Staub still makes its cookware at a traditional atelier in France, casting each pot in an individual sand mold, which is heated to 800°F and destroyed after use. The exterior enamel coating is made with glass powder and mineral pigments, applied in two or three coats to generate brilliant glossy colors.
Rated 1 out of 5 by greekgodess from Give it time Bought the 2 sizes and thought it was a great idea. We tend to forget that the trivet is stuck on the bottom of the pan and it would fall off onto the floor or our feet OUCH!! Then after only a few weeks one of the magnets fell out. I tried contacting Staub USA and good luck with that. They don't return calls, and emails are always responded to with, "you have to mail it back to NY for us to look at". What!! I have to pay my own money to mail back your defective product from CA to NY? They were horrible at customer service. I don't think Staub is what it used to be. I wish people would us the products longer before writing their reviews.Date published: 2018-03-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Stlouis2016 from Genius product This is hands down my favorite registry item. Not even kidding. It is the best invention. Works with my staub pieces and my all clad pieces. I got the 6", but I would have gone with the larger one if I could still return it. The small is VERY small (still useful!).Date published: 2016-11-14Rated 5 out of 5 by DCAIAD from Good Product Function as describes and works with all iron pans. Good when removing hot pans from stove or oven just lay on trivet and it magnetically attaches to pan. Protects counter/table.Date published: 2016-04-07Rated 5 out of 5 by IloveNY4ever from Most functional trivet ever! Looks great and sticks to cast-iron cookware. So much easier to get pots from stove to table - moves as a unit and is already perfectly aligned. I see more in my future. My "piggy" bacon press thinks it is his to sit on when it's not in use. A little whimsy in the kitchen.Date published: 2015-06-01Rated 5 out of 5 by drrayeye from Stuck on you This is a trivet that doesn't look like a trivet or weigh a ton. It's light toned wood fits in with most any decor when it's not stuck to the bottom of a cocotte.Date published: 2014-06-28Rated 5 out of 5 by kdg1827 from Very Usefull A Simple and effective kitchen tool that looks great and saves the counter tops.Date published: 2012-08-31
