  • Rated 1 out of 5 by from Handle broke after just a few uses I only used this pan a few times when the wood handle started to split. A few more times using the pan and the wood handle broke in half. I contacted Staub about having the handle replaced and was told that their lifetime warranty does not cover anything made of wood and they do not offer replacement handles to be purchased. They recommended I contact a local craftsman to have a custom replacement handle made. Very disappointing. I contacted Williams-Sonoma customer service and they did not even reply.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for making chapathis(Indian wheat tortillas) I was looking for a pan that was not non stick and my other cast iron pan made my chapathis harder and the handle was too hot to touch for a long time. My friend recommended this pan and I was hesitant since it was expensive. I bought this on sale and made chapathis and my chapathis were soft like before and the wooden handle is simply too beautiful. I am starting to love this pan slowly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and easy to use I bought this crepe pan to use at a b&b I plan to open. I've been using it at home and making crepes has never been easier. It's a nice big pan and the accessories with it really help to create beautiful crepes. I've also used it to make pancakes and it's AMAZING! It is well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Swedish pancakes With my 10" All Clad d5s, it was inconsistent at best, and I had difficulty turning the pancakes over. With the Staub crepe pan, and the special tool, the problem was solved. Works perfectly with my induction unit. I'm embarrassed to say that I even considered the "other" crepe pan.

  • Is the wood handle where it attaches to the metal part of the handle supposed to have a gap/opening? I would think water could get trapped in there when cleaning.

    Asked by: Susan
Hi Susan, The pan is cast-iron with a wood handle. It has to be handwashed because you should not immerse the handle in water. The indention where the handle attaches to the pan helps to decrease the overall weight slightly more than if that part was solid cast iron. The indention is also meant to add an aesthetic touch to the handle.
