Rated 5 out of 5 by MarionM from Works perfectly I love fresh pineapple but it has always been so cumbersome to peel and remove the core. With this easy to assemble tool,it also doesn't take a lot of cupboard space, it's a snap. Make sure the core is centered and then twist away until it hits the bottom (it will not slicen the bottom through), I had to put a little muscle into it, but it's manageable. Be careful not to force the handle as to not to break the equipment. The most testy part is pulling the core out, I assume the riper the fruit the easier it is to pull the fruit out. I held the fruit down while my husband pulled the fruit out. It was not messy at all just like in the video. A plus is the perfectly cleaned out core with a middle handle, it can be used as a fruit holder (grapes are perfect) or even a Pina colada container. A recommended buyDate published: 2018-02-24Rated 5 out of 5 by JudyB from Love this! This makes slicing a pineapple so easy! Love fresh pineapple but didn't buy it often as it was a pain to cut. This makes it so simple!Date published: 2017-12-03Rated 1 out of 5 by chef from Didn't last but 3 times I bought this product several months ago. The first 3 times I used it, it cut perfectly. The last 2 times I used it, the pineapple just turned to mush and juice. I tried to return it, but Williams and Sonoma has a 30 day return policy (How sad!)Date published: 2017-11-21Rated 5 out of 5 by Ernest from It's Perfect I went to my local WS store to buy this, and they were out. But, they offered to order it for me, and having it sent to my home. I got the 20% off, and there was no shipping. The slicer does exactly what it says it does. It was so easy to put together, and use. You just have to remember to cut the pineapple the first widest width near the top. Basically the width of the blade, plus a tad more. Just use a little gentle elbow grease to pull the sliced pineapple out of the hull. I actually froze my hull to use with a smoothie in the future. The blades are SHARP, so be careful. Washes up easily with warm soapy water. It's heavy duty and will last a long time.Date published: 2017-07-02Rated 4 out of 5 by CulinaryCailliers from Practice makes perfect We had to use this a couple of times to get the hang of it without making a mess but once you do the tool works great.Date published: 2017-06-13Rated 1 out of 5 by MariK from Returned it. Mine never worked correctly. The top would spin around in the cutter when twisting in the pineapple. The squeezie tabs to release the top would never spring into and hold the metal cutting part. Then I found the same one else where cheaper that works better. This one had no measurements on it, which my new one does.Date published: 2017-01-03Rated 5 out of 5 by LaQuintaLady from Quick and Clean I bought this item after seeing it demonstrated at a Wms-Sonoma cooking class a month ago. What a breeze to use, and clean-up a snap. One customer noted in her review she had trouble getting the stack of pineapple out of the shell. Hint: Lay the shell on its side, then hold one end of it with one hand, and just firmly pull with the other hand, and the whole stack slides right out. Then stand the pineapple upright and firmly push down on the wheel that separates the pineapple into segments. Best to select a pineapple that isn't real soft--segments easier. Sometimes I only want rings so don't use the wheel. No more waste, and no more cut fingers, and NO mess. Love it!Date published: 2016-07-09Rated 4 out of 5 by beaches from good quality The item is very well made and sturdy. I happen to see a less expensive one from the same manufacturer with the pineapples at the store. That stood not chance of working compared to this. The blades are sharp and work well spiraling in the pineapple and the pieces are all even. Depending on the pineapple there is still good pineapple left in fruit. I try to look for thinner long pineapples if possible. I have yet to figure out an easy way to get the core out?The dicer is plastic which makes it hard to get through after the fruit has been sliced. All in all a good purchase.Date published: 2016-04-26
