- More about Scanpan
Scanpan has been a leading European manufacturer of cast-aluminum nonstick cookware for more than 50 years. To ensure quality, the company casts and coats all of its nonstick aluminum products at its own factory in Ryomgård, Denmark. Reflecting the Danish company's progressive commitment to environmental sustainability, the cookware is made of 100% recycled aluminum with ceramic nonstick coatings that are free of PFOA and PFOS chemicals. The patented ceramic-titanium nonstick surface is ten times harder than stainless steel. Each pan is squeeze-casted into shape using 250 tons of pressure, which eliminates hot spots and ensures even cooking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DCFoodWriter from Handle broke on 2 different pans I used a Scanpan in a recent cooking class, and I was very impressed with their quality. I also liked the fact that there were no handle rivets inside the pan. So I order a 12½ inch model here at W&S. The package arrived, but the handle was broken in transit. I then ordered a replacement, and the second one also arrived with a broken handle. I'm not sure whether it's the product or how it was packaged, but it suspect the handles are too fragile. I'm not taking a third chance. I'll have to try the more expensive model with a riveted metal handle.Date published: 2019-05-16Rated 3 out of 5 by Steven from No replacement handle available. I like the Scanpans. They clean easily and distribute heat well. However, the handle of one one of my pans broke in the dishwasher. It would be a very easy repair. Alas, Scanpan does not offer a replacement handle and the pan handle was not part of the "lifetime" guarantee. I cannot support a company that does not offer replacement parts for such an easy repair.Date published: 2018-12-27Rated 3 out of 5 by SZnCali from Poor Heat Conductivity; However,.... Poor heat conductivity. HOWEVER, this is a great pan for items you want to heat slowly and not burn- i.e.- any eggs like omelets, fried eggs, etc. I made a roux last night at the butter heated slowly and then I could scratch around in it to mix the flour without it scratching.Date published: 2018-05-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Elizibeth from My best pans The Scanpan nonstick frying pan is the best for all of my cooking. I have 3 of them now and I bought one for my sister for Christmas.Date published: 2017-01-02Rated 5 out of 5 by VictorS from First use based I was inspired to buy a somewhat larger non-stick pan, but I did not want it to be teflon or variations of it. Wanted something more natural. The other requirement was - it should not be to heavy. This is a perfect fit - the size I wanted (12.5) and the weight I wanted - feels much lighter than any other comparable size pan (stainless steel, iron or cast iron). Lightness is coming from the aluminum construction. Don't be fooled with thin-looking wall. Bottom is really thick and substantial.Date published: 2016-10-15Rated 5 out of 5 by djsshaw from Wonderful pan This little pan has had daily use since it came. Nothing sticks, especially eggs! It is the right size for the two of us and cooks evenly even though it doesn't feel too heavy.Date published: 2015-06-23
