Rendered in golden puff pastry that's hand sculpted with three-dimensional detail, this pastry looks as exceptional as it tastes. Inside is a flavorful combination of rich, flaky salmon and fresh tender spinach sautéed with onions and seasonings.

- Use & Care
- The salmon ships frozen with dry ice. Please take care not to touch the dry ice with bare hands. Freeze the salmon upon receipt. Keep frozen, up to 3 months, until ready to thaw and bake.
- To thaw the salmon, place in the refrigerator for 4 hours. Preheat an oven to 375ºF. Remove the salmon from the packaging and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Whisk together 1 egg and 1 tsp. water. Brush the pastry with the egg mixture. Bake until the pastry is golden brown and crisp, 45 to 60 minutes, rotating the baking sheet 180 degrees halfway through baking. Let cool for 10 minutes, then transfer the salmon to a platter and serve.

Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

The only concern I had was that the portions were small. This time I served it for four and it was more than enough. I prefer having lots of food so that people can take whatever they want and keep taking more. I'd actually say that this serves 6 easily. Salmon was delicious. Easy to cook. Comes out golden brown. Stays warm well. Served with a big salad and that was enough. The entree was a hit. Many of my friends had never tasted a Salon En Croute before and loved it. Tips: The recommended baking time is 45-60 minutes. We baked it for 45 minutes and let it sit. It's wonderful. The crust is flaky and the prep time is non existent. My only complaint, if this can be considered a complaint, is that there is so much salmon in the pastry that it overpowers the spinach filling. My kids have started taking out some of the salmon and placing it in separate plates to "save" in the fridge for later. This only happens in the center of the shell so I usually cut from both sides to serve. I have not encountered the "fishy smell" that other reviewers have complained about. This easily feeds six people and with other goodies on the table you will probably have leftovers. I always purchase after thanksgiving when it goes on sale. It was still good this year the only con would be not to overcook it as tended to be a little dry.
