- More about Revol
Revol was founded in 1768 and has been managed by the same family for nine generations. The family built pottery studios in Lyon during the 18th century before moving to Drôme, where the current Revol factory still stands. The region’s soil contains superior clays and sands, with deposits of kaolin that are ideal for creating flameproof porcelain that can go from stovetop or oven directly to the table. Revol is one of the last remaining porcelain makers in France and one of the few in the world that still makes its own clay. The result is classic French porcelain with an unmistakably modern aesthetic.
Rated 5 out of 5 by JRGV83 from I love my new Oil Cruet When Filled its not too heavy and easy to pour. Super classy and fancy aswell. I love the white Rustic shabby chic look. Great product for the price.Date published: 2015-11-27Rated 5 out of 5 by bethc from Beautiful and Sturdy! I love this cruet - it's just the right size, not too big to pour with one hand (very important), but big enough to hold a lot of olive oil (also very important). The only drawback is that it's difficult to tell how much oil is in the cruet - but I realize that light causes oil to degrade, so I will sacrifice a 'view'. Next time I'll weigh it before I fill it so I can subsequently weigh how much oil is in the cruet from then on. I ordered the 'cool gray' color, and it is beautiful. It's a timesaver, since it's pretty enough to sit on the counter - the oil is right there within reach, but not exposed to light! The ceramic is nice and thick, so it doesn't feel delicate at all. One huge plus is that it's glazed both inside and outside, so it's really easy to clean. LOVE!!!!!Date published: 2015-10-23Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous001 from Did not come with spout I received this as a gift off my wedding registry. The gray is pretty and I would recommend it, however when I received it, it did not come with the spout. I am disappointed that I have to find a spout for it now.Date published: 2015-10-11Rated 5 out of 5 by BlueCat from Beautiful and Functional This is a beautiful and very functional larger oil cruet. I first purchased the 9 oz French porcelain oil cruet and liked it so much I then purchased this larger one for grapeseed oil which I use more of than olive oil. Oil pours easily, like the cap cover, and it's not too big in the hand while pouring with the rounded design. It's more expensive than many cruets but worth the extra cost for both practicality and beauty of the porcelain cruet.Date published: 2015-06-03
