Rated 5 out of 5 by TNmom from Delicious Bread! After reading all the bad reviews. I decided to not add the caramel sauce till after it was baked. Thank you to those who have gone before me. I greased my loaf pan vet well I prepared the bread mix and made medium sized balls rolled them in the cinnamon and sugar mix placed in pan and baked on 350 for 30 min as the directions stated. I made the caramel sauce per directions till all the graininess of the sugar was dissolved. Once I turned the bread out of my loaf pan I topped with the caramel and it was gooey and very tasty. Don’t miss out this is really a great product.Date published: 2019-11-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Teddy from One star for taste ... otherwise, a total mess We got this on sale at the end of the fall last year because it was on sale because, what we figured, was because it was at the end of the season. Now I'm thinking it was because of the directions. Next time, I will line the bottom of the pan with cut and fitted parchment after using baking spray on both the pan AND the parchment. I will try a little less water so the dough is a bit drier, as well.Date published: 2019-11-03Rated 2 out of 5 by cherbear from Tasty, but everything else is wrong A couple of things: Line your pan with parchment paper or you're just going to get a loaf stuck in the pan The dough will NEVER firm up using that much liquid and that little mix After you take it out, put it on parchment paper before you pour the rest of the caramel sauce on top to avoid even more of a mess I just poured the batter in the pan in thirds and sprinkled the cinnamon/sugar mixture between each layer. My 2.5 year old loved it because she got to make a mess, but everyone else hesitated before eating it because it just looked a mess. It didn't rise properly so it was all squashed down. The second star was for taste, because for as ugly as it was, it was pretty delicious.Date published: 2019-10-08Rated 1 out of 5 by GFFamily from Hard to work with Helpful tips to make this work: 1 - use parchment paper to line the bottom of the pan (I didn't try it without, but when I started to have problems and read the reviews - this one made a lot of sense. After trying to get it out of the pan - this was a very smart move) 2 - let it sit for a few minutes after stirring so it will harden a little. I followed the directions and there was no chance of it forming a ball to make other balls. 3 - use two spoons to pull apart the amount for a ball. Slowly dump it in the sugar and use the spoons to roll it in the sugar. Then the sugar on the outside will help it keep the shape for you to roll it in a prettier ball. 4 - put a baking dish underneath the pan to catch sugar that spilled over into the bottom of the oven. I used the 4x8 size pan recommended - but it rises and then made a mess. 5 - make sure to test with a toothpick. Mine took an extra 10 minutes of cooking and usually my oven is spot on. Don't plan on using this for company. When I did get it out, it fell apart and would not stay in form. The texture seemed okay. I am gluten free and had bought this to take someone recovering from surgery. The options at the store were pumpkin + chocolate, Pumpkin + nuts and this one. I though this was more generic and since I am a good baker - the pull apart didn't scare me. I have done pull apart monkey bread before. Unfortunately, this will have to go to the trash. It looks like a mess and not something I would want to share with someone needing some comfort. It would be fine for my family (if we weren't gluten free). I have had good luck in the past with W&S gluten free mixes and will feed that to visiting family members.Date published: 2019-10-04Rated 2 out of 5 by jenca from Flavor is pretty good, but instructions are NOT This dough is supposed to come together into a ball, but I followed the directions exactly and it doesn't ever firm up. I think it still could work if you make a few adjustments. First, why on earth do they have you put half the caramel sauce on the bottom of the pan?? No level of nonstick cooking spray is going to keep that from sticking. Maybe they should have suggested some parchment to line the bottom? Second, after cooling for 20 minutes, they tell you turn it out onto a rack and pour remaining sauce over the top. On the rack? Really? I mean, it doesn't actually turn out with all the sauce that is now baked onto the bottom of the pan anyway, but still, don't pour the rest of the sauce on while on a cooling rack. Mess! Third, use only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the sauce all together. It is way too sweet with all of it. This is too much work for a "quick bread" mix. And after all the work, the result isn't great. I can't say I would buy it again.Date published: 2019-02-01Rated 1 out of 5 by JayCricket from Awful. A real disappointment. Followed directions and ended up with an undercooked mess.Date published: 2018-09-10
