Rated 5 out of 5 by Babsfrombigd from Love this chopper I have had this PL8 Chopper for over a year and I love it! I use it all the time and never have I had problem. Not sure why some of you had issues, but be sure you don't try to chop a big pieces and to chop tomatoes use the bigger grid. Today I just chopped 6 cups of red onions, and 10 tomatoes. I only wish I could get a replacement for the small grig rubber cleaner. I lost mine and I bet it wound up in the trash. My bad!Date published: 2018-07-08Rated 5 out of 5 by chefjeff3223 from Makes Easy Work of Long Tasks I've been using this chopper for the past year. It is very sturdy, easy to clean, and produces beautiful results for things like onions, peppers, garlic and fennel.Date published: 2018-04-11Rated 1 out of 5 by mrsree12 from DO NOT BUY Broke after about 10 months of use and not fixable. I used maybe a couple times per month. So upset that I spent good money on this and now it is worthless. Look for something better and don't waste your moneyDate published: 2017-03-16Rated 1 out of 5 by Gennyo from Ugh! A Lot of Work Well, I am obviously out of step with the other reviewers. This was a whole lot of work! Took a really strong push to get the onion and apple through the grate. I had to cut the apple into eights. Half an onion was a no go. Once you cut up the item to chop you may as well finish the job. I didn't even try a carrot or potato. Is there a list of veggies that should only be used? It took me longer to prep and clean up than if I knife chopped. The little tool given was useless. I had to use the tip of a paring knife to clean the grate and a brush. If you have any knife chopping skills I would suggest you just use your knife.Date published: 2017-01-10Rated 4 out of 5 by Fishbait1001 from Favorite Chopper I have owned three of these choppers. My only major complaint is that the hinge breaks after repeated use. I cut my vegetables into slices to protect the hinge, but after a period of time it does break. I do not put it in the dishwasher. I love this chopper and not really happy but will have to buy a new one.Date published: 2016-11-22Rated 4 out of 5 by Lynder from OK, but .... This chopper does an excellent job of chopping and dicing. My major complaint is the difficulty of cleaning. 1) One of the grates is not removable from the frame and thus does not go into the dishwasher. 2) The included little cleaning utensil for the grates is awkward, tedious, and SLOW. Perhaps a cleaning utensil designed more along the lines of a comb would be more effective/efficient.Date published: 2016-01-29Rated 4 out of 5 by Bekstar from No more Tears This makes chopping onions suuuuuper easy! Peel onion skin off as usual, chop in half, place on the chopper and then with one push down and very little effort, BOOM, your onions are chopped. So effective. Okay so maybe you didn't save that much time once you include the clean-up, but at least the clean-up is simple -- the chopping grate comes out easily. For those of us with less-than-perfect knife skills/small motor skills, this device is very handy. I took one star off because I would not recommend this for shallots or garlic. I had no luck in trying to dice those with this chopper, even though there is a blade for it. I am going to make SOUP all Winter using this!!Date published: 2015-11-11Rated 4 out of 5 by RyanP from Solid Chopper I've used this chopper for a few weeks now and I have to say, it's pretty impressive. I like the different sized 'grates' available to adjust the dice size, also the ones that are removable make it easy to clean. The smaller grate is not removable. The one thing I would caution users is that when trying to power through a half onion it would make it about 3/4 of the way through and then I would have to put my entire weight on the lid to get through the last bit. I found that by quartering the onions instead of halving them made all the difference. That being said, it's impressive the thing didn't break when I was really leaning on it. Very solid. :) I'd recommend this to those that want to make quick work of dicing with uniform results.Date published: 2015-11-07
