Rated 5 out of 5 by sfcp from Just recv it and made my first guac tonight Mine stands squarely/evenly - slightly higher and thicker on one top side however I love that being hand carved. Last thing I wanted was a cookie cutter carbon copy of the perfect pig molcejete. Looks unique which I love and does the job hands down.Date published: 2019-09-04Rated 4 out of 5 by Manda from We’ve bought 2! So we bought one. Named him pascal. He was a good friend to us and made exceptional salsa! We were hooked. Went to visit my mom two states away and brought Pascal along so that he could show my mom what awesome salsa he makes! Well. Pascal decided he needed to stay with my mom (we forgot him behind). We were devastated. Without a second thought, we bought pascal 2.0 since it would have been too expensive and dangerous to ship pascal 1.0. You know something is invaluable to you when you don’t even blink before replacing when it goes missing/broken/left behind. Well...pascal 2.0 came with quite a few large holes & divots and what seemed like old food on him. Customer service was excellent and shipped a new one out right away and had us return the old one to the store. The delivery date keeps getting pushed out because UPS apparently likes to torture me lol. I’m sitting here waiting for pascal 2.5 because we miss him. The salsa in the blender has been holding us over but it it is nowhere near what this molcajete can do. Fingers crossed that pascal 2.5 is going to be a dream come true when it arrives today. It really is a joy having him! Photo is of pascal 1.0 being put to very important work. Pascal is heavy duty. He has a great grinding texture surface area. Because of this, cleaning takes a bit more care. I find the grinder easy to hold. Ensure that you season your molcajete properly and enjoy it for years to come!Date published: 2019-08-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Gigi from We love our "Pig Head"!! Our family loves my homemade guacamole....and this Pig Head Molcajete not only looks great, but we seriously taste a difference!! Perfect for entertaining....also a great gift idea for any occasion! And, btw, our pig head looks exactly as pictured! We have a large kitchen island.....I keep it out and it looks like great kitchen art!Date published: 2018-06-13Rated 1 out of 5 by customernan from Disappointed In Quality After an exhaustive search for just the right look, Williams-Sonoma featured the perfect rendition of a pig molcajete! As pictured online, it was exactly what I wanted; a distinctive pig face created by sharply chiseled features. Unfortunately, I received a crudely hammered out chunk of lava rock with an abstract hint of an animal appendage resembling a head. There are no sharp cuts in the rock that distinguish the features of a pig face/head, ears or mouth, such as those shown in the online photo. I realize that since these are individually hand-carved they will vary, but the molcajete I received looked absolutely nothing like the one pictured in the advertisement. I usually love W-S products and customer service, so I will trek my online purchase to a nearby store for exchange if I can find a pig molcajete more to my liking. Otherwise, I'll settle for returning it. Disappointed. Recommendation: If you're picky like me, make your selection at a store where you can see the differences before you purchase.Date published: 2018-06-04
