Our classic red chili starter has a bold, hearty flavor that's true to its Texas roots. Made in small batches using the best organic ingredients, it blends ripe tomatoes, smoky chipotles, beer, garlic and peppery spices. Jalapeño chiles add just the right amount of spicy heat. Prep is a cinch—just simmer the sauce with sautéed ground or cubed beef, pork or turkey, then serve with your favorite toppings.

Next Day Delivery

For an additional charge of $26 per address, we can expedite delivery to most destinations. This service is not available for some oversize items, items shipped directly from the supplier (including perishable and custom-manufactured items), out-of-stock items and items to be shipped outside the contiguous 48 states.

Orders received by 9:00 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday will arrive the next business day; orders placed Friday through Sunday will arrive on the following Tuesday.

Return Policy

At Williams Sonoma, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products. Attention to design, materials, safety and construction are our priority. Upon receipt, please inspect your purchase and notify us of any damage; we will arrange for a prompt replacement.

If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

For all cutlery returns (knife sets, single knives, cutting boards, knife sharpeners and knife storage), please contact us at 888.922.4108 to initiate the return.

We cannot accept returns on monogrammed, personalized, special-order items, custom upholstery, food, items shipped direct from the vendor or on items damaged through normal wear and tear. Final sale items ending in .97 or .99 cannot be returned.

Texas Chili Recipe


  • 1 1⁄2 lb. ground beef or pork
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 2 Tbs. vegetable oil
  • 1 jar organic chili starter


Season the beef or pork with salt and pepper. In a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, warm the oil. Add the beef or pork and cook, using a wooden spoon to break up any large pieces, until browned, about 10 minutes. Add the chili starter and water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, until thickened, 15 to 20 minutes.

Serves 6 to 8.

Serving suggestions: Serve over rice, topped with chopped onions, grated cheddar cheese and sour cream.

We made the chili 2 night ago and were extremely disappointed at how salty it was. I never add salt to anything I cook, so this was quite a shock. We did get a hint of a very nice chili flavor, but the salt was really off-putting. I wish this same recipe could be made only with no salt added. I think it would probably be excellent.

So simple to make, tastes better than any chili I've tried to make from scratch and is the perfect solution for a quick weeknight meal, especially as we go into fall!
