Chef Roy Shvartzapel has dedicated himself to perfecting the art of panettone, the "Mt. Everest of the baking world," and mentored with the world's panettone master, Iginio Massari, to perfect his own. Chef Roy begins with a natural wild mother yeast (lievito madre), then uses the highest-quality tools and ingredients to create loaves described by the New York Times as "domed wonders – paradoxically rich and ethereal at the same time." Not just for the holidays, this is one dessert you'll want to savor all year round. It arrives impressively packaged in a custom box, designed as a love letter from Roy to his customers.

You won’t regret it!Date published: 2017-12-12Rated 5 out of 5 by Dolcissima from Best Panettone Ever! After reading the NYTimes article about Chef Roy's panettone, I really wanted to try one. I debated between buying this panettone or the pistachio cherry one and decided on this one because I wanted to try the traditional version first. I should have bought both. :) I served this for Thanksgiving brunch and it was savored and devoured. This is a very excellent panettone, very light and flavorful with lots of candied oranges and raisins. Chef Roy has really perfected the craft of panettone baking. It doesn't contain preservatives like the versions made by the big companies, so I think it is best to eat it as soon as possible after you receive it. I tried it at room temperature and also slightly warmed, I preferred slight warm. This is my new favorite panettone!Date published: 2016-11-28
