Rated 5 out of 5 by DanielleNoire from Wonderful Pastry Mat I was looking for a large, sturdy pastry mat to replace the one I had, which was a laminated paper stock. This is such nicer quality. Easy to clean and put away. I use it for rolling out pizza dough and cookies; I've had no issues at all.Date published: 2017-01-14Rated 4 out of 5 by funtoshop from Serves the purpose A bit pricey, but it is a great to have some extra space on the counter for rolling out dough. Non-stick and marking features are great to have. Haven't used it long enough to see how it holds up over time. The only comment that I'd say is that I wish it would be a bit thicker. It is pretty thin comparing to the smaller kinds that I have that fit in the baking sheets so I was kind of expecting a thicker mat.Date published: 2016-12-13Rated 5 out of 5 by PMacW from I love this thing! My crusts came out delicious! No extra flour needed for me at least! So easy to use, I will make my own crusts from now on, for everything. A must have in your kitchen!Date published: 2015-11-29Rated 5 out of 5 by Vagigi2 from Should have bought one years ago! After using the nonstick pastry mat, I wish I had purchased one a long time ago. It made it so much easier to roll out to the desired size with the measurements on the mat. It was so nice that the mat stays in one place without slipping or moving while rolling out the pastry dough. I'm sure I will enjoy using the pastry mat many times because I do like making pies and other goodies.Date published: 2015-07-09Rated 5 out of 5 by arubachic from Awesome! product! Looking for a mat to roll large circles of fondant. Once rolling the fondant, can the mat be lifted to place over cake? Will the fondant gently fall away from the mat onto the cake? Thank youHi Deedee66, Yes, the fondant will not stick to the mat.Date published: 2019-04-29
How does the mat stay in place? Also, mentions that it can be rolled to store. Would that make it more difficult to lie flat afterwards? Thanks so much.Hi Raggedy1, As you roll out the dough, the pressure against the mat will cause the silicone to hold the mat in place. To store, we suggest rolling the mat with the measurements on the outside and do not fold as doing so may cause the mat to crack over time. When you unroll the mat and roll out the dough, the mat will flatten in-place.Date published: 2019-02-02
The product details say do not use as a cutting surface. Certainly I wouldn't use it the same way as a cutting board. But would it be ok to use cookie cutters?
